Doesn’t smell synthetic but doesn’t smell particularly great either. Not that is smells bad, it’s just a very unique smell. Could be entirely up to one’s opinion. It doesn’t have familiar scents though so it’s hard to describe

Will the hair have any sort of greasy feeling after application?

Makes my hair feel greasy for sure more than other clays.

Typically, fatty alcohols are used as emollients and thickeners in personal care products. Fatty alcohols are not irritating and, in fact, can be beneficial for dry hair and scalp. Some good fatty alcohols are cetyl, stearyl, and cetearyl alcohol. The bad alcohols to look out for in personal care products are SD alcohol, ethanol, denatured, isopropyl, methanol or ethyl alcohol.
