Posey 6148ML Deluxe Podus Boot with Ambulation Sole, Med-Large

As a PT of over 30 years I have used the Original Multipodus Splints throughout the course of my career. They have never failed to provide the intended suspension. For a bedbound patient, however, who has normal ankle ROM, these boots did not provide adequate suspension without shifting during the night, despite the patient being a still sleeper. As a result of shifting, the calf pads produce pressure on the heels, negating the effected intended.While they may be adequate for a person who is not bedbound, especially one who is ambulatory, for a bedbound patient these splints require greater than the recommended closure tension around the foot and shin to provide adequate positioning.With the Original Multipodus Splints, this was not the case. They distribute closure with Velcro straps around 4 points, not two. That, in addition to lambswool bedding, makes them less apt to shift. I should have spent the extra $14.00 and saved myself a headache.

If you are planning to use it to walk, be aware the nuts loosen and strip. I go through about one a month.
