Excellent For All Stargazers...
The excellent and very welcome Philip’s “Britain and Ireland 2018 Stargazing Month-By-Month Guide To The Night Sky" by Heather Couper and Nigel Henbest is ideal for my lack of understanding about stargazing.I am fortunate to live on a clifftop that has a low level of stray-light and get a good opportunity to see the night sky more in more detail than viewing from a large city. The included Dark-Sky maps help you find the best viewing.I always have frustrating problems identifying my intended night sky target objects, even after getting information from the Internet, so having this eBook will make things much easier, more so, following a small investment in a new compass and binoculars.Monthly Star Charts with calendar, The Planets, Moon, and Special Events mean you never miss anything while Monthly Objects and Planet Watch guide you while Topics and Pictures delve into the "Spectacular".Monthly "Observing Tips" help you locate objects and "Observing Technology" provides an insight to the selection and use of telescopes and binoculars.I would not hesitate to recommend this "Stargazing" eBook.

Great for the novice astornomer!
The Philip's month by month guides have been going successfully for some years now. That's because they've hit on a winning formula.Good Points:1. They are easy to read and understand;2. The month-by-month format makes it easy to follow throughout the year;3: You don't need telescopes or expensive equipment to enjoy the info in this book;4. The text is easy to read and the photos are good quality.Bad Points:1. None really. These books often come cheap!2. This book will not prevent clouds from getting in the way!I'm a keen astronomer and I buy this book every year. I hope this review has helped you in your buying decision.

Good.
Love this book. Full of clear information and guidance, especially if you're new to stargazing. One downside, quite big I feel, the pages are irritatingly shiny which makes them difficult to read especially in situ.

The Night Sky Each Month
I think the Philips 2019 Stargazing Month by Month Guide To The Night Sky by Heather Cooper and Nigel Henbest is up to their usual high standard. The book is a handy size to carry about with you. The information is clear and in enough detail to be able to spend hours looking at the night sky at any time of year. Weather permitting of course! Apart from the monthly sky charts and notes about the Moon and Planets there is a beginners guide to using and buying astronomical equipment. a very worthwhile purchase. Helen Marshall

Very useful astronomy annual guide
A great way to start your journey into the hobby of astronomy. Much of the content carries over from one year to the next. However, a large part of the text and illustrations related to the year quoted in the title. Never the less a good book to buy year on year.

Cracking value for money for stargazers...
A great little guide to the heavens above the UK throughout the year for the price of a pint or a burger & fries. If you are a complete novice, or getting into astro photography as I am then it's the perfect introduction to the night sky. Will I be buying the 2020 edition, you bet I will, or better still someone else will be for my Crimbo present.Highly recommended...

A must have guide
Love the format, and how every month is laid out the same, so you know where to find the information. I am an amateur astronomer and have bought this guide for the last 3 years. I find it is all I need as contains easy to follow maps of the sky, information about planets on view that month, a moon phase guide, special events section for each month and more. Can't recommend enough

Utile
