I've wanted a hori-hori for a long time and finally decided to order one. The more well-known brands were all sold out, so I purchased this tool from Garden Guru since it has pretty good user reviews. I love it! It is sturdy (full tang) and both edges (one serrated, one not) are VERY sharp. Excellent for cutting through tough underground invasive weeds like periwinkle, English ivy, and Japanese honeysuckle. Also useful for digging and planting. A wonderful tool. Every gardener should have one, and at this price you don't need to break the bank. This one comes with a sheath, too, which is worth having for safe storage.

This is a replacement for a primo Hori hori and I’m not disappointed, it is a very good replacement.

I bought this for metal detecting and found that it works very well for this purpose. The measurements on the blade are very helpful when trying to locate an object at a know depth. I liked the look of the black canvas sheath as it stood out less than a leather one. (Walking around with a metal detector is bad enough, but having a large knife displayed prominently on your hip is even worse.) I was a little worried about the longevity of the black canvas sheath, but found that there is a plastic liner inside that reduces the chance of premature wear. The only partial negative is the knife blade is not full tang. In other words, the metal handle portion of the blade does not extend the entire length of the wooden handle. Hypothetically one could try and pry a manhole cover open with it and possibly break the wooden handle. I find this unlikely however and am comforted by the fact the seller responded with a follow-up email after the purchase and that this knife has a lifetime warranty. I have only used a couple of times because I hurt my hand. But the times I did use this product it worked perfect. Weeding, cutting saplings from the base of fruit trees, digging holes to plant cuttings. It cleans easily and has a great fitting cover to keep safe. I recommended this to my son for his garden.

I bought one of these for myself last spring and love it so much I bought a second one as a gift for my gardening friend.

This is an awesome garden tool ! Very well made . Heavy duty and should last for years. I just used it to clean out my garden after we had a heavy frost and it made that job super easy.

I had broken my Lesche style digging tool and decided to try a garden knife style tool for metal detecting. Very impressed with the quality and durability for the price. I've used it on around 12 outings and put it through considerable abuse digging through gravel, prying up stones, and cutting roots. I honestly expected the tip would have broken by now considering how I've treated it. It cuts a very clean plug and the concave shape allows for sufficient shoveling when your target doesn't end up in the plug. It really seams to make restoring the turf a lot easier. Another advantage is it can cut small diameter deep plugs when you get a good pin point. After all the abuse, the serrated edge was still plenty sharp enough to cut a rock climbing rope with a bit of sawing (obviously not the right tool for this under normal circumstances).

Je suis agréablement surprise du rendement de ce couteau Hori Hori de Garden Guru. Je l'utilise surtout pour arracher les pissenlits géants sans problème. Même ceux coincés entre 2 dalles de béton. Le côté en "dents" coupe très facilement ces pieds de pissenlits qui ont un bon 12pouces de diamètre! Attention aux doigts! Il n'a pas de "seconde chance". Mon pouce l'a appris à ses dépends. Soyez prudents et portez des gants. Chose que je fais maintenant.

Best garden tool ever.

Metal portion of tool is very good. Wood handle is cheap and broke easily. It has a full tang so it was repairable to use, but still disappointing
