Works Fine But Room To Improve
In our family we all seem to really wear down our heels a lot. The shoes are in good shape, but the heels are shot in no time and replacements nowadays are quite expensive, so we've started to use these heel plates as a way to give us a bit more wear on our shoes and that's worked very well for us.Shoe repair shops will charge $5 or more for a set of these and this offer was for 50 pair for less than the price of 6 pair. Okay, it's more than most of us need, but I have them now on 5 pair in my closet and have put them on several pairs of shoes for each of my daughters and my wife with another 39 pair in reserve as these wear down and already saved the a lot over what it would have cost to bring them to a shop to have done. One problem I had was getting the right size heel tap. I bought the large, but they're not very big and I see now that I would have been happier with the extra large size for my shoes, while my girls probably would have preferred something smaller. The pictures online are not very helpful so if you have concerns, you might want to test by buying a smaller number of the different sizes before committing to a larger purchase like I did.The heel plates however are simple to mount on your shoes. Simply peel off the paper backing and position them where you normally get the most wear on your heels. Then take out three of the included nails and hammer one into each hole of the tap. You might have a problem doing this without having a solid support to hammer the nail against. This is easily remedied using a small block of wood.. a small piece of 2x4 works well for most adult shoes...placed on the floor and then position one end inside the shoe under the heel. Took me maybe 15 minutes to do 5 pairs of shoes. There are no instructions with this purchase and when you order, you'll probably find, like I did, that not all the nails are the same, which makes little sense to me. I got a bag of nails that were different sizes, diameters and lengths. I don't know if it makes much difference which ones you use where, but I ended up using the longer nails on the outside of the heel plates and a shorter one in the middle. They work fine and I'm happy with the product which was shipped quite quickly, but even a rudimentary explanation on how to do this correctly...how to size them correctly and why the nails are different(if it makes a difference) would have led me to give this item another star.

Good for quick, cheap fix.
I had my hubby put these on my boots because I needed to get through the rest of winter with them and didn't want to buy new shoes at the end of the season. He put on with nails and shoe goo. They have a hard plastic "tap" sound when walking on certain surfuaces, but not too bad. They even my shoes up enough for me to get the rest of the few months wear out of them. I wouldn't put these on an expensive set of boots, you need to go rubber for that and invest a little more money. The taps themselves are a little slick, but I only noticed it on very wet or icy surfaces. I have no idea what to do with the many remaining ones, unfortunately you have to buy a bag full to just get the two you need.

Great Investment
Really good deal! The heels of my shoe are the first to wear but these taps provide a much longer life to them. The nails bend fairly easily if you have hard heels versus rubber so it requires patience when driving the nail. I use a 2X4 inserted into the heel of the shoe to support it when I drive the nails. The tap has an adhesive on it that allows it to stick to the heel of the shoe while you secure it with the nails. This was my third time buying them so I went with the 50 pack which is much more economical considering how often I use them. I have a shoe collection. 😏

smaller than expected
The image shows the extra large heel tap inside a tracing of the heel on my USA size 10 medium men's shoe. Because the inside of this heel is solid on the edges only, the tap's nail holes don't line up with the edges enough. (The parts of the heel away from the edges is a honeycomb for cushioning and if it is pierced, the shoe can leak. I know this from wearing through a pair. I was hoping I could use these taps on the new, identical pair of shoes, but if I install this tap, because it does not match the contour of the heel, the nails will pierce the honeycomb and the shoe will leak. If the curve of the tap matched the curve of the heel, I could install it no problem. In my opinion, these extra large taps are suitable for much smaller shoes.)

Good price, easy to use. Not yet sure of the durability
As others have said, this is a big improvement over the name brand packaging, which has both large and small sizes. These are all the same, and perfect for men's shoes. They also have three nail holes, instead of the two plus a staple of the name brand. I'm not sure if all the nails are the same size, but they all work. My sense is that these may be wearing a little bit faster than the name brand, but I haven't actually recorded dates. In any event, it's not obvious enough to keep me from buying them again.

A real shoe saver!!!
These will help save your heels, I recommend putting in when shoes are new. I also use extra glue to be safe along with the small nails. The nail heads are oblong but the guards appear made for round heads so they don’t quite fit.The plastic is a bit hard and can be a bit slippery, and the nails sometimes clack a bit, but they do saves heels, especially if you put on when new.

Great product and price
Uploaded photo of these taps on my dress shoes. The product came in a loose ziploc bag. I'm Assuming there are 50 pair in the bag though I haven't bothered counting. Suffice to say that it will be a long time before I need more heel taps. The shipment also had a separate ziploc with the nails. Nails are study steel and don't bend when hammering into the feel. The adhesive on back of the taps works well to hold the them in place why you fasten with the nails. The taps themselves are hard rubber or plastic and seem durable. Overall very happy with this product and happy that I'll extend the life of my dress shoes. I will buy again when (if ??) I run out.

These are good quality for the money paid
These are good quality for the money paid. They do not crack and brake off like others I have tried, and they do last a long time. The only downside is that they are a little too small for a mans shoe. It would be great if I had a choice to buy a size that is at least one quarter size larger. I have looked but can not find any that are larger that wear as long. I recommend these as strong buy.
