This is a great product if you have a pond with ducks or geese who refuse to go back into the water because they don't want to swim in their poo any more. Lol!! Follow the instructions on the package. It takes weeks for to work. We can already see a big difference in the pond. It is clearing up nicely. It just takes time. So in the mean time, go get a wading pool and fill it with clean water for your ducks and geese. It won't hurt them to wait it out. It beats draining out the pool, getting a shovel; scooping the carp out of the pond and then refilling it. It's a bit expensive but well worth it. If ya got fish in there like us; they will be ok, and they will be thankful they can see a lot better. 🙂 Get it! Update: On the coldest day of the year, (and yes snow in south TX) our silly ducks decided it was safe to swim and play in the pond again as you can see in the picture. Of course, the weather knocked out our banana trees but they will be back in the spring. So yes this stuff works. It's just a bit expensive. Just get it. It really works.

The AirMax products have helped to clean up our 1 acre pond that became full of brown floating slimy clumps. It is a continuous treatment to keep the water clean and clear as it is just spring fed, no inlets or outlets. However, we will continue these treatments, though a little expensive, as it is important to us to keep it clean for swimming and for the fish and other wildlife.

I purchased this product as a desperate hope it could help my pasture pond, which was absolutely choked with algae from a dead tree we couldn't get removed for weeks due to the ground being too saturated. The first dose, thrown into the mucky pond, did absolutely nothing, which was very disappointing to me. However, then we got another rain burst that flooded the pond and washed about 80% of the algae downstream. So with the intent to do the "aggressive" treatment (i.e. throwing in treatment every two weeks), I added in the next recommended dose to the remaining 20% of algae still floating around the pond. Three days later, the change is dramatic. About 5% of it is gone completely, and the rest is starting to die. So I eagerly anticipate what another month of treatment will do to the health of my pond. In all, anybody looking to use this product needs to keep these two important things in mind: it will NOT help a pond that is choked or otherwise drowning with algae. For that, your only recourse is probably physical removal of said growth, or being lucky like me and getting a well-timed flood. Secondly, temperature is probably another factor that is dramatically improving the performance of the second dose. The first dose was thrown in while temps were still relatively cool (low 70's), but within a few weeks our temps around here have spiked to high 80's and humid. This stuff definitely starts cranking when the temps start to rise. I'll update again in a month (two more doses), but if the last three days is any indication, I anticipate a pond completely clear of algae growth by then. And that will make me a VERY happy customer, and perfectly willing to continue purchasing this product despite its higher price. *Several months and a summer's worth of treatment later*: Our pond experienced a massive drought, which really dropped the water level and stagnated things. However, through it all, the water (that was left) never fouled with algae growth. I have maintained treatment every two weeks, and I think had I not the pit would have become a stinking sump. WILL definitely be purchasing again next year.

This actually works out great and I will continue to use it.

After 1 month seen no improvment

These muck tablets seem to work the best from the 5 or more brands that I have tried...the only drawback is that my larger koi seem to have developed a taste for the tablets....not sure if going through the stomach of a koi kills the bacteria or not?

I placed these tablets in our pond that has heavy shoreline much in the fall. The pond froze over in the winter and in the spring I was amazed. in some spots up to a foot of muck disappeared and the water looked clearer than I had ever seen it.

UPDATE 2025: I purchased this product 2 summers ago at less than half it's 2025 price and it made minimal if any difference. My pond is approximately 1/4 acre and has seen no reduction in the "muck" in the time while using the product or in the 2 years since. I am currently still trying other products with approximately the same result. Given the cost of these items it may be less expensive to spend a few hundred bucks, rent a mini-excavator, and dredge the pond of all the muck (great for gardens when mixed in as a composting agent) and start over with fresh vegetation and maybe a change in water flow. In short, these may help a coy or goldfish "pond" or similar but in my experience will not actually improve the conditions in any spring-fed type ponds, and DEFINITELY not at double the cost in only 2 years. (Prior Review 2023):Have been using this product for over 3 months and I can't tell if it's actually making much of a difference. I think it's helping some, and perhaps the pond I'm using it on (left unmaintained for 15 years) has such a high need for remediation that I'm asking too much of this product, but I will be trying a different brand next to see if there is any apparent difference in outcome.

I tried this in my Castle moat over a 3 month period and have not detected any noticeable effect so far.

We purchased Muck Away Pellets- 8 lb, after reading the online reviews. We had just had our pond dug out, and we were looking for a product to help clean up the left over muck at the bottom of the pond. After reading the reviews, we thought that this product would help us get a cleaner and clearer pond. After 4 weeks we are seeing a lot of hungry bacteria activity, and now are starting to see the bottom of the pond. I am excited to see what the results will be after 8 weeks, if our first 4 weeks are anything to go by it should be amazing. So far we are truly impressed with this product.

I bought this figuring we would give it and try and wow are we glad we did. It has made a huge difference on our shoreline. I will be ordering more for sure.

Seems to work in beach area. Easy to distribute from shore. Seems pricey.

Been using this for a while and have seen no results as far as removal of muck or water clarity. I am very disappointed in this product and will not purchase again.
