Good looking latch
Really surprised its plastic. When my old tailgate latch broke (handle part) I was shocked. Even the replacement one was plastic. Toyota made access really easy and really easy to replace. Hardest part was taking the old lock out of the old latch and put it in the new latch. Slight redesign and you have to make sure your lock is firmly seated when installing the lock's retainer clip. Funny thing is, I've never ever used the lock and only changed it out because I I didn't want to leave a hole to collect dirt. Install was easy - its just getting it properly into position thats just a little tricky but not bad.

A great replacement handle - works and feels like the original.
I was quite happy to find a replacement handle for my 2003 Tundra Pickup. The original handle broke off when unloading mulch. I wasn’t sure how the chrome would look, but it is great. The replacement handle was easy to install. Works a lot better than the screwdriver I was having to use to open the tailgate.

Glad I did the work myself.
I busted my factory plastic tailgate handle after 70,000 miles on my Tundra. It was the simpliest swap out I have done on a vehicle. This is cheap plastic just like the OEM handle. You do swap the key receive to the new handle. You might need to slightly bend one of the release rods like I did to make the tailgate not 'stick' so less force is needed on the handle.

Very much chromed
Easy to install using common tools in my 2001 Tundra; no painting required. It is plastic as described in other reviews, and looks like it will last for a couple of years at least. Shows some fingerprints The O.E version lasted 12&1/2 years, but this one was 1/5 the cost of the unpainted OE version. Go for it.

Awesome replacement
I was a little nervous buying parts on-line, but my handle broke on my tail gate, and really needed one. So I decided time to chrome it out, This part fits in perfectly, only took 5 minutes to install, and looks GREAT on my truck. what an up grade this was. I will be buying more chrome parts now. Just remember to take your lock out of the old one when putting in the new handle, its just a little clip that holds it, so very easy to do.

Looks good - Works Good
I bought this as a replacement for a factory handle that broke. the first thing you notice is it looks really good in the chrome. It seems to be well made and installed without a hitch. I watched a YouTube video. It took about 15 minutes to install. The factory one lasted 10 years. I hope this one beats that.
