Outstanding Product
Don't usually write (or feel compelled to) reviews but I wanted to express how fully satisfied I am with this vapor barrier. It's durable, flexible and just superior to simple plastic coverings. I believe it's 8 mil and reinforced.When applying I made a bad swing with my hammer-stapler and struck the product missing my framing and all it did was crumple it without tearing!Really happy with this and highly recommend it!

Worked well in my sauna
The foil is tough enough that it doesn't tear easily around wood staples. It's thick enough to easily be applied without any trouble. It's been behind my Douglas fir paneling now for about 9 months, and I haven't noticed any funny smells. Very happy with this backing!

Worked great for a sauna
Product was sturdy, I could work with it and staple it without it ripping. Way better than the stuff with the local box store.

Works great and is durable
Used this product as a moisture barrier and Infrared barrier when building my sauna. It is very durable and helps keep the sauna hot.

Not suitable for sauna use: melts easily, ignites quickly, and seems to contain plastic. Unsafe!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this aluminum foil for use in a sauna, but it turned out to be a disappointment. At high temperatures, it melts easily and ignites quickly, making it completely unsuitable and dangerous for such applications. Judging by how it melts, it seems to contain plastic, which is unacceptable for high-temperature environments. I do not recommend it for similar purposes.

Outstanding Product
I recently installed this vapor barrier as part of a remodel to a large steam room/shower enclosure. It was moderately easy to work with, the material was surprisingly durable (and strong), and it did not accidentally tear during installation, and it was easy to bend it to turn corners without wrinkling.. A sharp utility knife or scissors was required to cut the product. The extra width reduced the amount of work needed for installation, and the material was easily set in place with a staple gun. Excellent value.
