Black vine weevil can feed on over 200 species of plants and are a common pest. Root-feeding larvae destroy a plant’s root system reducing the plant’s ability to take up water and nutrients. This results in reduced plant vigour, reduced growth, wilting and can result in plant death. Larvae can be found it the soil year- round and are especially active in spring and autumn. After they emerge, adults feed on foliage leaving characteristic notches around their outer edges of leaves. Beneficial nematodes are naturally occurring microscopic worms which move through the soil to hunt, infect and then kill vine weevil larvae. Didn’t work for me
It hasn’t cleared the vine weevil grubs from our raised beds. I put it on as soon as received. But a further dwarf bean root had been eaten through last week. Leaves yellow, plant lists then find it’s eaten off st the roots.

Easy to use, and harmless to the plant.
Really easy to use, it appears to have worked, the plant that triggered the purchase hasn't grown but similarly it isn't dead yet. When I looked into the soil there were hundreds of larvae so the danger is that it may have been too much for the nem's, I guess that it will become more obvious next growing season. All other plants are doing well, must get some more next spring.

East to apply and good value.
I have used nematodes for vine weevil control for a couple of years now, with great success. I thought I would try this cheaper brand which , so far, seems to be fine. My only small grumble is, there was no use by date on the packet. The day after I bought them, the weather turned very cold so I was unable to use them for 2 weeks. However easy to apply and good value for money.

Does the job,kills vine weevils
What I liked.........killed the vine weevil before they killed my new clematis.enough to treat another couple of clematis and a jasmine growing in pots.lost a clematis a few years ago,when not being a gardener,I didn't know what vine weevil were.
