is it safe to leave charger unit plugged in all the time even if not charging the vehicle

Yes, you may leave the charger plugged in. The charger does not place high voltage on the terminals until it senses it is connected to the car. You may want to consider purchasing a "EV charger plug nozzle holster dock" to mount on your wall, so the charge cord is always supported and out of harm's way when it is not connected to the car.

I have seen other customers saying it takes just over 2 hours to fully charge their c-max. mine takes over 4hrs. is my charger defective?

If your one of the fuse is tripped on the fusebox your charger will go in to level1 mode which will take 4 hours to charge . Please call us at 610-905-2510 to help you over the phone and try to solve the issiue.

For 30Ft Units: from the charger box to J1772 (car) connector is ~27ft , from the charger to power outlet (wall power) connector is ~3ft.
For 35Ft Units: from the charger box to J1772 (car) connector is ~31ft , from the charger to power outlet (wall power) connector is ~4ft.
For 40Ft Units: from the charger box to J1772 (car) connector is ~37ft , from the charger to power outlet (wall power) connector is ~4ft.
For 50Ft Units: from the charger box to J1772 (car) connector is ~47ft , from the charger to power outlet (wall power) connector is ~5ft.

Also, we have over 10 different power outlet plug types; so that you do not need to make another investment every time you go a to new power outlet type; whether due to moving into a new house or changing the current workplace.
