Traditional Chinese stories translated into English. My kid, ABC, prefers stories in English. So, this is a great book to read to her.Mommy approved ✌️

My kids really like this book and pick it out a lot as bedtime reading. A couple of the stories, like a ghost story, I don't read as a bedtime story. The illustrations are quite colorful and lovely. It's been good, in my mind, for expanding my children's (4 and 6 y/o) exposure to different cultures.

I like how the stories are described, but there is a cutting on the book wrapping.

As another reviewer mentioned the length of these stories is perfect for a bedtime story. The choice of stories are all classic Chinese stories which are ingrained in Chinese culture. The illustrationd are all very striking and the short explanations of how these stories are remembered today was very educational for a Westerner living in Taiwan like myself.

Great stories for kids, with enough "difference" to intrigue adult storytellers. The artwork is beautiful, but I wish it had been just a bit more traditionally Chinese.

I first bought this book when I adopted my daughter. Then we lost it in a move and we definitely needed another copy even though my daughter is much older now

We have been reading a different story from the book each night. They are a good legnth for bedtime. My daughter is adopted from China and is usually not that receptive to reading books with Chinese subject matter, but she loves this book. All of the stories are new to us, too. The pictures are colorful and nicely detailed.

The short stories are amusing and my daughters enjoy them.

This book is great for children. Nice illustrations , wonderful stories. I read one story before bedtime and stories are very interesting.

The monkey king has the wrong ending and it’s a let down. I’ve read journey to the west. This is NOT what happens at all. It misrepresents the story. I haven’t bothered to read the others. If my son hadn’t dinged the corner of it I would return it.The illustrations are garish as well.Get the other one by Tuttle. Don’t get this one.

My daughter enjoyed these stories. I thought the excessive contrived similes were a little wearing though so it’s cost it a star.

As my son is learning to speak Mandarin, this book introduced him to various famous stories that Chinese children will be familiar with. It is easy to read and each story has a moral behind it. He enjoyed it very much.

Some good stories. Great for stories from other cultures if you teach in primary setting.
