Philips Lumea New BRI956 Prestige IPL Hair Removal for Body, Face and Bikini

I bought this on a different site because it was cheaper at the time, but I’m so happy I had to share here.I’m a 36 year old male, and I have been shaving my body since I was a teen. I wish this existed then. It is awesome.I've been only using it for three or four sessions, so like 6-8 weeks, but results are immediate enough that I was sold right away. After the first session hairs fell out, the hairs that didn’t fall out seemed to take longer to grow in, the hairs that grew in came in finer without causing skin irritation like when plucking, and lastly, I had all this patchy growth.Your results could be different, but I was impressed right away. I have pale skin with dark hairs, so I am ideal. My hair growth is medium to medium-light for a guy, or medium to medium-thick/heavy if I was a girl. Like my facial hair is thick enough to grow a full beard, but my chest and stomach was lightly haired, and my arm hairs were dark and long, but fairly fine.I have zero shadow or visible stubble to my armpits now, with very minimal growth. Same with my legs and arms. My chest and abs have maybe 20-30% remaining. My groin has maybe 50% or less remaining. My neck, under my chin, has maybe 80% remaining. I can totally see being hair free in most areas in three months, and in every area in six months.I also own the Tria diode based product. It is painful like really painful. I have had laser tattoo removal, and it was that painful in some areas or worse. The risk to burning the skin is definitely higher. The sensation is analogous to lighting each follicle on fire. I felt it deeper in my skin like a shock of burning lightning was traveling along the hair to the root. In that sense, it feels like it is working more than this IPL Philips laser, but I knew I needed to try a different product. Besides pain, the main reason is time.The Tria one has a dime sized contact patch versus the Philips which had like three to four times that size. To do just one upper leg on the Tria could take an hour, and since it only runs on battery, that was like a full charge, so then I would have to charge it for an hour to two then repeat. It could take all day to do my whole body. The Philips one takes like fifteen to twenty minutes to do each full leg—maybe less—and because it can run wires and wireless, I can do my who body without stopping. Lastly, it is much more tolerable. The sensation is more like a mild slap to the skin with a warm sensation that follows. Night and day different in comfort to the Tria. The Tria is ideal for small areas with thick hairs, but is really impractical for large areas.Regardless, the cost of these is saving me thousands, maybe tens of thousands on professional treatments. I really can’t give this enough stars. I’m already telling everyone at work. I work at a hospital in California, so the nurses make bank, and many have done laser in office, but they were all sold when they saw my arms. Some commented that my skin even seemed healthier and more even toned. These products will lighten moles and freckles, so that made sense. Anyways, I should be a spokesperson because I keep telling everyone how impressed I am, but when you are blown away and happy as a customer then it is only natural to share. Guaranteed you will too!The only negative was that the plug was Euro and came with an adapter, which never stays well in the wall without support from a book or something.

I have pcos and have had to deal with unwanted chin hair since I was in my early twenties. I'm in my late 30s now and fed up with this hormonal hair growth. This product has helped reduced my facial hair growth. I have tweezed daily every day for years. I use the lumea once a week and tweeze after I use it. There are less hairs and the hair growth is much slower. The skin on my chin used to be hyper pigmented with lots of scars. The scars are fadeing, hairs are reduced by 75% and my chin is getting smoother to the touch!I started using this once a week at the end of november Its now March 18th. So I've done about 15 treatments. the hair still comes, I still tweeze daily but it's just so much better. This lumea prestige is a God send. I think it's worth every penny.UPDATE:Now it's July 27th and I can say I am still extremely satisfied with this product. I now do treatments 1-2 times per month. I usually have two or three hairs on my face that I remove daily. I can even skip plucking if I really wanted to. But now I think I just look for unwanted hair because of habit over the last 20 years. This is incredible and I can't believe I went so long suffering when I didn't have to. I can touch my chin without feeling any prickly feeling, now I feel smooth skin. Now I feel like a normal person.

Can’t say anything about the results co I just got it last week, we will see in few months, but one thing bothers me.It was mentioned that the adaptor is for usage in any country in the world. I’m from Europe and the plug doesn’t match at all... any chance you can send me additional ?!

Im waiting 1 month to write s review, because on the firsts weeks I didn’t see diferente. Now I start see results, hair stop growing faster and reduced a lot.

I am fair skinned with thick, dark hair and used Lumea according to the directions. In fact, I was more thorough with it than the directions because it took me two hours to do both legs without missing any spots. Though I was never completely hair free, after the first couple of sessions I was able to skip shaving for 2-3 days. After the third or fourth session I was about as hair free as I was going to get. Those nearly-hair-free results lasted for about four months, then all of the hair grew back, though I must say it is finer than before. Apparently Lumea stuns the follicle but doesn't kill it. I had professional IPL done in a doctor's office. It was permanent and the treatment really stung, but Lumea barely stings on the highest setting. In the winter when my tan fades I will use it again and hopefully after a few years my hair will be fine enough it will be worth the money. Tria works much better in terms of permanent hair removal, it just takes a million years because the laser surface is so tiny. Lumea is far faster but doesn't work as well.

I love this! I used to go to waxing salons, but those are so expensive. Then I used an epilator which works, but it is painful and you have to do it so often. Plus it takes a lot of time. I have just finished my 3rd treatment with the Lumea, and there is almost no hair on my body! It is just absolutely fantastic, I can't believe how great it is, really. I mean, at this price, it's a luxury, but OMG, what a fantastic luxury! I have light skin and darkish hair, which is supposed to be the ideal combo for this device. It might not work as well for you, but for me, I am in love with it!

Only had it for a couple months and it has stopped working.
