Stainless Steel Versi Drain Assembly with FlipCap, ST-4

I didn’t need the entire assembly but just the top piece. It is awesome! I never thought I would get so excited about a kitchen drain- but it’s stylish AND functional!

Perfect for my Kraus sink! My drainpipe in the wall is rather high and the original basket type Kraus drain, which I loved, was too deep. I installed a cheap universal drain but it looked cheap and started to leak. Luckily I came across this drain assembly. It is the shallowest of the three drain assemblies Kraus makes. It fit perfectly and looks great!

So far so good - this was easy to install, and so far no leaks! I used silicone instead of plumbers putty between the top lip of the drain and the bottom of the sink. This is made with a number of plastic parts, which does feel a little less sturdy/robust than I would like, but overall they seem durable. I like the clean look with the flip cap covering the strainer! It is fairly easy to use, just pushing down on the whole thing to plug the sink, and pushing gently on the lip at the edge of the cap to flip it up and be able to pop the whole thing back up and unplug the sink. Detaching and re-attaching the flip cap from the strainer isn’t the smoothest/easiest, but isn’t something I’ll need to do very often if at all. Update 9/4/25: I am a little disappointed with how much grime collects between the black seal/gasket and the underside of the metal basket/strainer. I usually end up having to clean it out using a toothpick once every week or two, seems like a design flaw that could have been improved.

What I like about this strainer basket is - everything! It held water in the sink overnight, it looks stylish in the sink and when the cap is closed, it allows water to drain. Also, it cleans up nicely.

I like this kitchen drain. I chose it because it was plastic, since the metal one I replaced it with, I had to cut off. When not in use the cap looks nice.

Looks good, great for rinsing berries as they don’t wedge in the strainer. Color matches other brushed nickel bits (faucet, garbage disposal ring) well.

Bought this to replace lost strainer from KRAUS sink that wife’s friend? lost. The sink is wonderful heavy gauge stainless steel with enough noise dampening material to make it very quiet.

Great qualtiy and looks very nice . would sugest this as a good item.

The insert into the sink is great. The plastic flange threading that actually connect to the plumbing on the underside of the sink is terrible. Stripped and ruined immediately. Complete right off. The product would be great if made out of durable material.
