A fun resource to stretch your creative writing skills. I found a few of the activities a bit repetitive or difficult to understand the purpose of, thus the 4 star rating. Overall, though, I recommend this to anyone wanting to build creative writing skills, especially in poetry and free writing.

The book would be good for a child that already likes to write. It didn't convince my 7 year old that writing is fun. Maybe we will give it another try next year.

It's not always easy to find age-appropriate books for older elementary age children and in my case girls. This book will serve to keep their youthful creative juices at the ready while stimulating untapped thought processes as they mature - perfect for my 9 and 11 yr old granddaughters.

Make writing a pleasure for kids as you teach them with these creative techniques--everything from prompts to group poetry writing to memoirs. This book has it all and in a fun way!

I have another book by this author and my children love them. We use these for writing practice in our homeschool environment. We use a prepared curriculum - but I do this type of stuff for supplementation. I highly recommend her books.

I ordered this book to help me be more creative in my writing and possible give me some ideas to help my students. Well, I'm teaching at a college in India AND even my MA students found the ideas challenging and expressive. They now realize they can write about ANYTHING! The prompts help and the ideas are boundless -- and the ideas can turn into lines of a poem, a lyric, a lyric essay, a memoir and/or short stories. I could not have taught this online certificate course on Creative Writing without this book! Kudos and Gratitude!!
