Great light but expect to use a lot of them!
If you're looking at these lights you may be wondering should you get the Daylight or the Bi Color version and you may also be wondering how many lights to get.I was very skeptical about this light kit before ordering it because of the size. We needed studio lights for a Video Stream, during the stream we use 1-2 hosts in front of a large green screen 10' x 14' green screen, total depth is about 9 feet.I can say without a doubt while accounting the price of these lights - They are amazing and very flexible for a small space.First up the good:The flight case is very nice although very heavy and overkill for the lights. The case can hold 5-6 lights with their tripods if you purchase more later. The lights are pretty bright at 100% but if you are lighting some hosts for green screen work you will want 5 - 7 lights total. 1-2 for each side of the green screen , 1 on each side of the host to light their face and body, 1 behind backlighting the host. Each light comes with a power supply and the ability to use battery power if doing a remote shoot, very cool! Each light comes with barn doors to adjust the light specifically on your subject, they work great and are very sturdy. Each light has the ability to adjust which hinge joints they are mounted two, the adjustments are very flexible to get into most locations and clear the barn doors. The Day Light temperature levels are perfect for studio work. If you needed to get the Bi Color versions I would step up in size (1000 series), the lumen levels are drastically cut because less LEDs are engaged to achieve the same color adjustments. When we bought the Bi Color kit we noticed we were running them at a higher setting or not getting the same light levels as the fixed temperature Day Light kit. In my application I'm running most at 100% so the Bi Color did not work for us at all, we would need to step up to the 1000 series.I love how lightweight each light is , they are light enough to mount to a portable rig for a DSLR if needed. The only item requiring improvement:The tripods are very very lightweight and not sturdy at all. I wouldn't recommend them for studio work but they are great for travel shoots, but be aware wind will move them around. We upgraded them right away to better C Stands. To the manufacture -provide better stands and these lights would be worthy of 5 stars.Great product overall, and well worth the price! Start your studio work now!
