This is an awesome recipe collection box. The wooden box gives a nice touch and the plastic index card holder with the slot on top of the box blew me away... This feature is so useful in the kitchen - you dont have to worry about getting your recipe index cards stained while cooking. I love this product and highly recommend it! PS - I am so glad I ignored all the recent reviews about the wooden finish being bad or the index cards not fitting in the plastic card holder... I didn’t run into any of these issues with the product that was delivered to me. Happy cooking!

This recipe box was purchased as a gift because my wife and I have been extremely happy with an "identical" item purchased from another source (but currently unavailable).Overall, it met my expectations except the internal height of the plastic recipe card holder is not long enough to fit a standard 4 X 6 index card.I do not recommend this product because I feel that the recipe card holder is an important feature because it keeps recipe cards clean and easy to see.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for family members with the intention of photocopying old family recipes and indexing in the recipe box. The box is pretty cute; it’s simple and classic. I like the indexing/tabs provided for organizing cards. And, the slot at the top of the box is a nice touch, for easy reference to your recipe. In my personal opinion, recipe cards are easier and more convenient to reference than recipes off a phone or book.

I was excited to get the recipe box because it had the plastic sleeve that you slide your recipe in while using it. BUT when I tried to insert the recipe card in, it wouldn't go. The index card is a standard 4x6. I had to trim 1/8th inch off the top and bottom. Then when I tried to slide the card in, it would not go because the flaps that hold it in were too close to the main front part. I am thoroughly disgusted. If I could get a plastic sleeve that I could slide the card in, I would be pleased, even though I would have to trim off 1/8th inch off the top and bottom.

So excited to receive this to have a cohesive place to put all my recipes. Unfortunately the excitement was short lived. I began adding my cards in and the lid completely broke off. I was concerned with its durability up front at it appeared not everything was aligned properly. I don’t see how the lid is ever suppose to stay on based on the weight and only a little glue and tiny nails to hold it together. I may see if my husband can make it work otherwise I’m returning. For $30 is should be more substantial.

Large, sturdy, very nice box. I love the slot to hold cards on top. I am very impressed with this well made recipe box and would definitely recommend. I am giving it to my granddaughter with my recipes and can't wait for her to see it. I did buy extra 4x6 covers as some reviews say the ones that come with are small.

I wrote out all of my recipes for my daughter in law for Christmas. I looked for a wooden recipe box and this fit the bill. My only complaint ( thus the 4 stairs) was the wooden piece the fit the side of the lid was too long and I had to file it down

This is the best little recipe box. It's very sturdy and looks nice. It has lots of recipe cards in it that are very sturdy and lots of room to write out the steps on the front and back. Overall very pleased and impressed with the quality and durability! Excellent gift idea!

I have wanted one of these products for so many years and, so, when I found one on Amazon I ordered it for myself for Mother's Day from the kids. When I took it out of the packaging the lid fell off and then the sides also came apart. I am VERY DISSAPPOINTED. As this is a wooden box I can only imagine the cost involved to try to send it back, I have no idea of the returns policy, I have just left it in the spare room where I won't see it every day and be reminded of such a terrible mistake in ordering.
