Not a typical textbook
I have enjoyed reading this book. The information presented is fascinating and the way it's presented is approachable and reader-friendly. I purchased it for a class in grad school and found it to be an enjoyable read. The author did a nice job of presenting a field of study that's enormously complex in a way that is enjoyable and readable by a typical reader. The only thing I thought was lacking was the labeling on the diagrams of the brain. The diagrams identified some specific parts of the brain but did not identify other parts of the brain that were mentioned in the text. I found myself several times examining the diagrams in order to find a part of the brain I just read about but wasn't able to find because they were not included in the diagrams.I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in neuroscience, whether they are in an academic setting or not.

Its complete but it went out of order.
The book is normal up to page 145, then you have to find page 146 at the back of the book. The pages after 146at the back of the book then run backwards to complete the books. Thier out of order. I had a good laugh. I wonder if I was the only one that had this issue. This is an advanced graduate book. Difficult to read, but interesting. Does great to tie the medical model and social work together.

Good Overview, but Overpriced
Very good overview of the role neuroscience plays in the field of social work. It is extremely overpriced now that it is being used as a textbook.

School
I needed the book for a class last semester, this book was very complicated to read even with my background in nursing. I did well on the book report for class that was required

LOVE IT!!!!!
This book really digs into the why's behind how people act. We always look at people and size them up based on what we see (their behaviors), not even thinking about how this person's brain wired. This book definitely makes me want to be, even the more, compassionate! Great book Farmer!!
