How deep are the pans?

Pan depth is rather small, shallow. Adequate for SMALL size generic bread...truet me when I say: You ant use the larger fancier slices of bread on these: you will have cheese and stuff squishing all over the place!!But, the device is easy to use and good for the price..

are the pan plates removeable?

You don't wanna spray the plate, you butter one side of the bread and always place butter side next to the plates, then it's just a wipe off with a damp cloth when finished.

Do you put the uncut sandwich into the grill or do you have to cut it to fit?

I put the uncut sandwich on the grill. But after using it several times, I got rid of it. When using cheese, even though spraying with Pam before using, it was very difficult to clean because the grill plates can't be removed. For me. it just didn't do what I was hoping it would do. Good luck!!

Im thinking about buying this but i need to know if this works with 220 V?

I love my Cuisinart dual sandwich maker. I don't think it works on 220 volts. You would need an adapter to convert.
