I have mixed thoughts
Let me begin by saying this: people are too much focused on the ease of installation, bubble or no bubble, fit or not fit... these should be the least to worry when it comes to matte protectors. Technologically matte protector is more difficult to produce compare to the glass glossy protectors, bad quality matte protectors will make the screen unbearable, whatever you call it, rainbow effect, noise, pixelates... it’s the same thing. Bad quality ones will show all of that. It will make your beautiful Retina display looks like garbage. This product however, will not show noise, or rainbow effect, the surface is really smooth and fingerprint/glare proof! However, once you put it on, prepare to say goodbye to your Retina display, it will smooth out the fonts so they are not crisp anymore, is it a bad thing? Not necessarily, just need some getting used to. On regular/larger fonts you probably won’t notice so much, it will make smaller fonts bit difficult to read. On graphics and movies you probably won’t notice at all.So should you get it? It depends on what you are doing with your iPad. If mainly drawing, dealing with graphics or movies this won’t be a problem, if you read on your iPad then this will make your eye tired after long period of time.I will have it on until one day I want my Retina display back.Pros: anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, smooth surface (more traction for Apple Pencil vs slippery glossy glass)Cons: Will smooth out fonts make them not crisp anymore. Especially making smaller fonts difficult to read.

Great for cockpit use.
I use my iPad as an EFB in general aviation aircraft. I like the protection of the clear glass protectors, and they have saved my screen multiple times on many devices. But the glare of the sun in the cockpit is not only distracting, it can cause heat buildup and device shutdown. You pilots know what I'm talking about. Nothing worse than the iPad shutting down while you're getting set up for an arrival at a new airport.Pros: Fit was perfect on my 5th Gen iPad mini. The matte finish does a great job of reducing glare when the sun hits your iPad. Not eliminating it, but a whole lot better. I have also noted that the iPad doesn't seem to heat up as much. I have no measurements to back that up, but I have flown several times recently in the hot southeast weather and no shutdowns yet. I have had summer shutdowns for heat in the past with clear or no screen protector. I haven't had to test the protection, but being glass I expect the same level as a clear one. The matte finish also seemed to make the installation easier. I've rarely installed a clear protector without at least one tiny something under it. The matte seems to cover imperfection better.Cons: The matte finish slightly reduce the brightness, but to me it's only noticeable holding it right next to one without a matte screen. I tried to use a stylus and if you have a heavy hand or a hard tipped stylus you can scuff the matte finish. The edges are not rounded like most clear protectors. I have my iPad in a folio style case outside the cockpit, or a Ram mount in the cockpit, so I only notice it around the home button.

Like the Appearance and the Anti Glare Feature
I mainly use my iPad mini outdoors, to control my drone, and the glare from the typical glossy screen protectors is super annoying. I've tried the hoods, but, I like to be able to glance back and forth between the screen and the drone itself with ease. There is some loss of brightness, so, I have to turn the brightness all the way up. I also expected there would be some fuzziness due to the anti-glare option. This has been reported in comments on other products. However, I see no sign of fuzziness or distortion. The fonts look crisp even on the smaller letters. The Anti-glare works. I don't get the reflections that make it look like you are looking at yourself in a window. Instead, if the sun is directly on the screen, you get kind of a diffuse white glow. If however you move so that the screen is in some shade, this goes away and you can just see what is on the screen, with no reflection. This was a couple of dollars more than some of the other options, but I think the quality is probably worth it. It feels good to the touch, and it looks good. I took it to a cell phone repair place to have them put it on for me, since experience has shown that I'm just terrible at that, so, I can't speak to the ease of application. When applied by a professional, there were zero bubbles. The crew at the cell phone repair place had not seen a matte finish screen protector before, and they liked it so much they are thinking about starting to stock them.

Perfect Matte finish, antiglare properties fabulous. Use for outdoor activities without reservation.
Not the cheapest out there, but the quality is unsurpassed.... Easy installation. All materials for installation are included. I even miscued on the install by not having the protector perfectly centered, but was able to carefully start lifing on one corner and slowly pulled it off, then (paying closer attention) I laid the protector back down on the glass and it adhered itself immediately.I use this iPad Mini 4 to control my DJI Drone outdoors and the matte screen has the perfect antiglare properties needed to use outside.
