This book illustrates an important part of the world's history and the role of security services guiding the international politics.

I have not purchased this book, but ...its contents appear to be the same as in Andrew/Mitrokhin's book entitled "The World Was Going Our Way," which I do own;"Mitrokhin Archive II" and "The World Was Going Our Way" were both published in 2005 and each has 676 pages; each has chapters covering Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Africa.The titles of these books are different and the cover design is different, which might suggest they are two different books.They seem to be the same to me; please correct this review if I am wrong.

When former KGB man Vasili Mitrokhin defected to the UK he took with him the most extensive archive of intelligence received from any source ever. This book is a must-read for all those of you who enjoyed the earlier Part-1. This second part reveals the full extent of the KGB's links in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. This book exposes the extent of the KGB's connections with many world leaders including Castro, Allende, Nasser, Saddam, Mengistu etc. A bit tedious to read, but definitely worth the effort.
