ABBREE SMA-Female Ham Radio Antenna VHF/UHF 18.8-inch 144/430MHz High Gain Foldable CS Tactical Antenna for Baofeng UV-5R BF-F8HP Pro 5RM K5PLUS GM21 UV-5G Plus Quansheng K6 UVK5(8) Radio Accessories

Would never have believed how good it works! I was able to make contacts via the ISS with this on my Baofeng uv-5r and only 5 watts. Love the build quality, the captive Velcro strap, the rubber gasket to seal the antenna connector and the stubby base you can leave on (just unscrew the folding part). For 6 bucks, this is incredible! Every baofeng user should get one! Only regret: should I have gotten the orange one for a buck more??.....lol!

Unboxing and First Impressions The ABBREE SMA-Female Ham Radio Antenna comes well-packaged and immediately impresses with its sleek, black design. The foldable, soft antenna design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Its 18.8-inch length (48 cm) strikes a good balance between portability and performance. Performance and Features Connector Type and Compatibility: The SMA-Female connector ensures compatibility with a wide range of Baofeng and other radio models, including the BF-888S, UV-5R series, UV-82 series, and many others. This makes it a versatile choice for users with multiple radio models. Frequency and Gain: Operating on dual-band VHF/UHF frequencies of 144/430 MHz, this antenna offers reliable performance across these common ham radio bands. The gain of 2.15dBi (VHF) and 3.2dBi (UHF) enhances signal reception and transmission, ensuring clearer communication over longer distances. Signal and Impedance: With a maximum power rating of 20 Watts and an impedance of 50 Ohms, the antenna maintains strong signal integrity. The V.S.W.R. of less than 1.5 further indicates efficient power transfer, minimizing signal loss and enhancing overall performance. Portability and Design: The foldable design of the AR-152A is one of its standout features. This makes it highly portable and convenient for field use, as it can be easily stowed away when not in use. The soft, flexible nature of the antenna also makes it more durable and resistant to damage from bending. Real-World Usage Signal Quality: Users report significant improvements in signal quality and range compared to standard antennas. The high gain and dual-band capabilities make it suitable for various communication scenarios, from urban environments to remote outdoor locations. Durability and Build Quality: Opinions on durability are mixed. While the soft, flexible design contributes to its longevity by preventing breakage from bending, some users have noted that the antenna can be less durable under harsh conditions. However, for general use, it performs admirably. Ease of Use: The antenna is straightforward to attach and detach, thanks to the SMA-Female connector. Its foldable nature adds to the convenience, making it a practical upgrade for any compatible radio. Conclusion The ABBREE SMA-Female Ham Radio Antenna is a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their radio's performance. Its high gain, dual-band capabilities, and flexible design make it a valuable addition to any radio setup. While there are some concerns about durability in extreme conditions, its overall performance and portability outweigh these minor drawbacks. For ham radio enthusiasts and professionals alike, this antenna offers a worthwhile upgrade, delivering improved signal quality and extended range.

Improved reception with the ABBREE ant by at least 2 s units on a Wouxon dual band HT compared to the Wouxun factory antenna. Reception on FM broadcast band, Air band, and NOAA all came in noticeably stronger and more clear. 2 meter repeaters boomed in as well as expected. I then tried the ABBREE ant on 4 different Baofeng UV-5R transceivers. The reception improvement (if any) wasn't noticeable. The Wouxun and Baofeng UV-5R transceivers were tested within minutes of each other with the ABBREE Ant at the same location under the same conditions. Still not a bad antenna and was not as unwieldy as I had imagined. The price is also very good at <$7.00 here in the USA.

Flexible, durable, and works great with my radio. It has good reception and is much easier to carry around than a rigid antenna. Great upgrade for the price! 📻

Screw in real good got a lot of range easy to deploy

It really has good range and is sturdy good value for the money

This antenna doesn't seem to be as balanced as the original stubbie. And while I received two of these, they don't seem to be the same. Additionally, one antenna came with a spacer and a velcro strap to secure the antenna when folded. The other one didn't. So I can't recommend.

ABBREE 18.8 inch tactical antenna for Baofeng I like it. This is about ¼ wave length on 2 meters, which is good. I measured about 1.5:1 SWR on 2 meters and about 1.2:1 SWR on the MURS band. Disclaimer: measuring the SWR of a HT vertical antenna is close to impossible, as the ground radial part of the antenna is the person holding it. I do sometimes monitor local VHF aircraft and marine bands on my UV-5RM. This was a good improvement to my NA-771 type antenna and well worth the price. Just don't use it folded over else you may find a rubber-ducky works better. Taller, uglier, cheaper, better performing on UHF than a NA-771. I like the cheaper and better performing part of this antenna. Just keep in mind that you will not always want a nearly 19 inch tall antenna on your HT. MY 771 is still a favorite antenna to have handy, and sometimes the little rubber ducky works well. It all depends on what manner of communication you need.

CHEGOU EM OTIMO ESTADO E FUNCIONOU PERFEITAMENTE

Bonne antenne. fait le job. Sa fonction pliable est un bon point pour le transport.

Es muy flexible

In my testing it archived about a 50% improvement over the standard baofeng antenna

The abbree antenna performs very well on received and out going signals both well above the standard rubber duck antennas, and will give the nagoya branded antennas a run for their money this tactical antenna is well worth the purchase and as a replacement antenna works well on the vhf uhf amateur radio bands. 5 stars from me it's well constructed over other known brands well packaged and arrived on time.
