blomus Stainless Steel Business Card Holder

I bought this in 2010, and about 6 months ago the lid broke off. I'd say 9+ years of this being in my pocket every day, everywhere I go will give an idea of how durable this is. I was looking for a sturdy card holder because it's always in my pocket with my pocket knife and my money clip, and every other one I'd tried got bent to hell after a week. Well worth the price. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a durable, nice looking card holder.Edit: I got to thinking after posting my review, the only negative thing I can say about this card holder is that due to the slick stainless steel outside, it did tend to slip out of my pocket occasionally while sitting on our couch, recliner, or in the car depending on the pants/shorts I had on. I always felt it happen, though, so I never did lose it.

I have bought three of these, one as a gift. I had previously acquired a cheaper business card holder that over time was damaged in my pocket. This stainless steel one seems sturdy. The unusual method of opening has not yet broken (although I am a bit wary over time). The company seems to specialize in various steel devices. The number of cards it holds seems generous compared to a gold-plated traditional holder I have.I'll admit it's a bit severe-looking compared to a gold or silver plated traditional holder, but I personally like the look, and I am glad to have one that so far is holding up. It's a bit larger than a regular holder which I also like... (a bit easier to keep track of).I'll give it only four out of five because I am trying to avoid grade inflation and over time I'm not sure if the hinge will break or something .... but so-far so-good... no breaking yet, and no sense (yet) that its looks are out of place.

I purchased this case so that my biz cards wouldn't looked all banged up as if just in my purse.I love the look of it, but mine doesn't stay closed and that bothers me.the cards don't fall out but it's still a defect. I tried fixing it but bending stainless steel is not exactly easy and I would scratch it if I used a plier. on that note, don't have it next to your keys, it will get scratched!Added review 1 year later:after having it had in my handbag for 1 year the cap just broke off at the hinge.:(

Very much enjoying my business card holder. The design is a brushed aluminum finish with a slim profile to fit unobstrusively in your jacket breast pocket. So far when I have taken it out of my pocket, I have received positive compliments. Aside from the beauty, the primary reason I chose this design was ease of use. My prior card holder needed to be pried open with two hands. And guess what happened on a few occasions? Yep, cards flew in the air. Not the kind of first impression I wanted to make. The Blomus lid flips open, much like a traditional Zippo lighter, with your thumb. Cards stay in place. People are impressed. You get the job/contract/the girl. It can hold approximately 15-20 of my thick business cards. Highly recommend it.

I first purchased these about 8 years ago, and they were well designed and durable. The last three that I have purchased have horrible quality, the spot welds that hold the hinge and the catch mechanism break after about 6 months or so. The hinge design is now really flimsy and after a month or so the top kind of wriggles around when open. I have already had to reattach the front catch with a tiny fabricated rivet, and I'm going to make my own hinge and catch replacements so that I can avoid buying another piece of junk.For $20 this should be quality, but it reminds me of cheap imported goods when it used to exude European class and quality. I don't know what happened but this isn't something I would recommend to anyone. And yes, all of these were from Blomus.

great concept, but it little big/bulky for my taste and a little heavier than I would have hoped. lid doesn't close as smoothly as I would have liked. it looks great and for ladies that carry a purse I would definitely recommend.

I looked for a few days for. Nice, flashy card holder for my new jobs business cards, and I ended up with this. Been using it for 2 months or so with no issues. I agree with some others that I wish the hinge were heavy-duty; it looks like it could easily break if bent slightly the wrong way or dropped on its head while open, but I haven't had any issues.Had I designed this, I would've made it spring-loaded so you can flick it open like a zippo. But it can be opened with one hand, it's just not as "snappy" like a zippo, and that's what I was really searching for (and never found). But otherwise no complaints, it's turned a few heads already, and that was the goal really.

Overall, this product is worth the price. It is heavy and thus feels sturdy, but not too heavy. The only two downsides that I have found are the hinge, as everyone else mentioned (but it also feels pretty sturdy). My main complaint about this product was the inside walls. If you have glossy business cards like I do, instead of normal stock card cards, you might have the same problem I have found myself having - rubbing. The first and last cards stored have shown a little wear on their outside faces due to the metal rubbing up against them.Otherwise, I think this is probably as good as it gets regarding business card holders.
