23" Cowhide Leather Travel Sports Overnight Duffle holdall Bag

What a find! I had been looking to replace my carry on leather bag for the last couple years but just always had something better to spend $500 than to get a great quality bag at a reputable local leather store. Well the strap on my 15 yr old bag finally bit the dust last week so I ordered this as a quick stopgap replacement for just a bit over $100. This is no stop gap replacement, it’s a great high quality leather bag! The straps seem durable and well made along with that unmistakably scent of fresh leather, not chemicals and stain like cheap bags. The top zipper is brass, double sided, and goes all the way down the side allowing easier packability for shoes, jeans, etc. the capacity of this bag is larger than I expected from the pictures and much bigger than other bags offered here on amazon. Enough for a pair of shoes, a weekend worth of clothes, laptop, and tolietries with a bit of room to spare if you needed to pack a heavy jacket or suit.I will say that the leather is very fresh and arrives flat so it needs to be unpacked immediately, filled up with blankets or sheets to get its form for the first week or so before using it. Once the bag has aired out and stuffed to form for two days or so, the creases from its lie flat packaging we’re still present so I decided to treat the entire thing with Cadillac Leather conditioner in the white bottle. It softened the slightly dry, fresh leather to give it a more buttery finish as shown in the photos. The leather absorbed the conditioner well and the creases created from the flat packaging are gone for all intensive purposes. I also bought a can of Apple Guarde to waterproof the exterior of the bag but haven’t tested or used it yet.The only downside so far is that I had to return the first bag I received which looked like it had been used and scratched by somebody previously, but Amazon shipped me a replacement immediately that was in perfectly new condition.I plan on using this bag 2-3x each month for airline and car travel. I’ll report back from time to time with updated photos but it seems like this bag is going to age well if treated properly.EDIT (4.1.2021): While this bag has served its purpose for me as a shorter term replacement, the top zipper is showing it’s of lower quality than my last bag. I had to repair the zipper while on a trip to Chicago in Nov 2019 and it served another year of use before it broke again in Nov 2020. I used it for probably a total of 50 overnight trips, never checked it, always carry on or car travel, but the top zipper has come off the teeth again. I’ve knocked off 2 stars as the durability is less than great.

What an outstanding piece of luggage. I am delighted with this versatile, high-quality bag. The leather is not thin or flimsy, but thick and long-lasting, giving it such a classic look and a natural beauty. It even looks better in person than the photos.The workmanship and attention to detail are obvious on the rest of the bag as well: the stitching is secure and even, the fittings are well-formed from strong, heavy metal, the zippers are also heavy-duty and move smoothly. Often the shoulder strap is an afterthought on bags like this, but the attachable carrying strap (and fittings) are also strong and well-made which is important as this bag is generously sized and can hold quite a bit of items/weight and a flimsy strap just would not last for long. I appreciate the "feet" on the bottom of the bag that keep the leather from scraping the ground and also keep the bottom of my bag from getting damp when I need to set it down for a moment.While I am currently using it to transport my gear to and from the gym, it is my go-to bag when traveling for work or pleasure. It is an excellent value, and I highly recommend it.

Initial Impression:Good packaging material, even color and consistent texture to the leather on the exterior of the duffel bag. And then of course, the wonderful smell of leather as it permeates the air :).Pros:This duffel bag is a solid bag for the price. The leather is thick and durable, not that thin flimsy stuff on other bags. Its large enough to fit everything I need for a week-long trip, maybe longer. The shoulder strap is adjustable and is long enough for my husband to comfortably wear it, and he’s 6’ 5”. The zipper looks to be a good metal zipper, not one of those cheap plastic ones. The bag has five (5) brass stand-offs on its bottom. It has one exterior and three interior pockets.Haven’t seen any cons yet, would buy again, see pic.

I received this bag very fast. It comes in a flat box and is folded down so I suggest opening it as soon as it received to help with it lasting longer and keeping it from having permanent creases. It is bigger than I thought it would be just strictly based on the picture and is very sturdy. It is well made and smells nice (I personally love the smell of leather). It is perfect for a carry on if you are traveling on a plane and could fit in a overhead storage area very easily but not be too heavy. It has handles but also comes with a strap you can carry on your shoulder. It has a front pocket that zips and it has a zipping pocket inside that is a good size, plus one that is on the outside of that that doesn’t zip. It then has a divided pocket on the opposite side.

Speedy delivery! When i pulled the duffle out of the box, i was pleasantly surprised how durable it felt. The leather quality excellent and the stitching strong. Hubby and i packed it full, it holds enough for both of us for a weekend trip. I love the long strap as well and the pockets . Makes me want to fill up my calendar with get-a-ways!! Seriously blows away my other duffle bag (not from same company) , which is getting donated to Goodwill.

This bag sucks..ordered first one and it came horribly scuffed. Three dimensional scuffs in the leather that you can feel. Totally unacceptable..if anyone’s gonna scuff up a new leather bag it’s going to be me. Bag seemed used really. So I requested a new one, and when I got it, it was scuffed worst than the first!!!! I returned both of them to amazon and have no leather bag at all
