Speck Products CandyShell Grip iPhone XR Case, White/Black

I've had this same brand/style case for my iPhone 5s, 6sPlus (two of them) and now my XR. I think these are the best cases out there for general use. You can't ask for a better grip. It's got an extremly sure-footed grip, but not sticky. The case isn't too thick or too thin. It's the right thickness. It's got a soft bead that goes around the screen allowing the screen to be slightly recessed so if it ever drops the case will take the impact unless something protrudes to impact the screen directly.The price of these cases is very reasonable compared to others. I carry my cases phone in holster on my belt or in one of the vertical zipper pockets that a lot of modern tops have. I never carry my phone in my pants pocket but the grip strips may make it difficult to get it in an out of one's pants pocket, particular the front ones. Once in awhile I'll slip it in my back pocket when it's the most convenient place for a few seconds.Theses cases are very durable. Any wear comes from installing and removing the phone from the case. I have alternate uses for my phone which requires removing it from the case frequently. If I didn't do that I think the case would outlive the phone. I have ordered the same brand for all my phones starting with the 5s and my other half has the same has and has had the same case for her phones.I highly recommend this case.

This is the best iPhone case I have found. It has many protective features (the material, the corners, the raised ridge around the face) but best of all, one can hold it without any fear of it slipping out of the hand. I wish it came in multiple color schemes but the red and violet case will not get lost. Great buy!

I recently replaced my old Spec Shell that I had for 7 or 8 years. I'm rough on my iPhone but the old case worked great for that many years. It had become worn from the abuse I dish out so I replaced it with the same case.About a month ago I was working and was on someone's old wooden ladder. As I was descending, a step gave way and I fell to the floor. I had my phone in my back pocket and that was the first to hit the floor when I fell. Thought sure my iPhone was totaled but when I pulled it out of my pocket, there wasn't a scratch or a broken screen. Phone looked as if nothing had happened.It's hard to believe that a case so thin can offer such awesome protection. I'll never buy another brand of case. I even bought a Speck case for my MacBook Air I was so impressed with the durability and compactness of their products.

I only buy this type of SPECK case as it is the ultimate! I drop my phone on concrete and the like more frequently than the average person and I've never had an ounce of damage to my phone. The tiny "lip" on the front of the case helps keep it from actually hitting the glass of the phone when you drop it. I am loyal to this brand for over a decade!

First, let me say how much I love this case! I have bought it for many different phones. When I used a random clear case for my new red iPhone XR, it did not protect the glass camera lens from shattering after a drop which required a complete iPhone replacement (thankfully under AppleCare). After this expensive incident, I searched a lot of cases that actually had a deep well for the lens instead of being flush like most cases I saw. The solution was staring me in the face the whole time! It is thick enough to protect your camera lens and has done so after a couple of drops.The only thing that isn't the greatest is the rubbing off of the rubber backing on the back (which is another feature I love about this case). I don't know if this is a new problem or what, but it definitely degrades the cosmetic look of the case as you can see in the pic.But, guess what! I'm buying another one anyway! Highly recommended!

Great! I haven’t had very long, so I don’t know how the grooves on the back will hold up. My last case was a speck and after about a year, they started raising up and tearing off. So far this one has done well. Easy to hold, great grip. I’ve dropped it once from a short height but it did fine. Good durability. It is a little harder to take off than my last one was, but I guess that shows it’s sturdiness. I’ll update if I have any problems!Update: it’s been ten months of use off and on, and it still works great. I highly recommend a glass screen protector in addition because mine has dropped which would have cracked the screen if not for the screen protector, but the rest of the phone is in great condition. The rubber ridges on the back have started to peel the tiniest bit but nothing too crazy.

This is one of Speck's best phone cases because of several reasons: it is durable with a great grip. The holes for the charger, speaker and another small button are small enough to protect from too much of debris or water getting inside. I have had no issues with charging my phone with the case on.The only two small complaints I have is the case is very bulky and heavy because this is for an iPhone XR (bigger size). I plan to try another Speck case to see if that helps reduce the weight of it. I also noticed the shiny part is starting to get a little scratched even if I am typically careful with where I place my phone. So just be aware that it will show some wear over time even with normal usage.If you are someone who is looking for something that will withstand drops, doesn't slip out of your hand easily, and has smaller holes for the openings, this phone case is for you.

I love the Speck cases for my iPhones. My first speck case took a severe beating over a couple years, and it protected the phone no matter what. Bought a new phone, and now I have another Speck case for it. Just the right amount of grip, but not too much which would make it difficult to slide in and out of a pocket. Not overly bulky. For the price they can’t be beat.
