Not brand name, but good enough!
I was considering buying a brand name 2-in-1 otoscope/ ophthalmoscope for my pediatric rotation. But a friend recommended that I buy a cheap otoscope, and if desired, buy a separate, high-quality ophthalmoscope later. I was debating between Dr. Mom and Zyrev. I wasn't thrilled about either choice, since they both look mediocre. Ultimately, I decided to go to Zyrev given their color selection. And I'm glad that I made the decision. The Zyrev otoscope actually feels firm and good quality. It's not too heavy to feel clunky in the pocket and not too light to feel cheap when using. The otoscope is smaller than the standard stationary otoscope, so it's a great fit for my small hand. The color coat seems to be matte, so it gives the device a nice stylish look. The light brightness and magnification seem good enough to visualize the ear canal. I've only tried it on my dog, and he moved away before I can spot his ear drum. So I can't comment on the sharpness of the view. The specula look decent quality, though the provided carrier pouch doesn't look that impressive. Batteries are not included. Anyways, I recommend this product if you're looking for an affordable otoscope to get you through the rotation!

Good for looking in ear just not perfect
Works well just hard to see when I have no idea what I’m looking for. The doctor did show me a little of how to tell but it’s not the same as in the office. Also my kid has super waxy ears so it’s hard to see past. Great to see if anything is in the ear or if there is redness though. It feels really sturdy and has been dropped a few times without any issues. Super easy to change the ear tips for hygienic matters. The color is cute too.
