Exploring: Microsoft Access 2013, Introductory (Exploring for Office 2013) 1st Edition

I have to agree with the statements about the Figures being too small. I rented the Kindle version, and it is still difficult to make out some of the text based, even when zooming in with the Kindle app. I am using the Kindle app for Windows and Mac, and everything is clearly visible except for some of the diagrams. I have attached a screenshot of one particularly difficult Figure, especially since there appears to be a typo in one of the entries even though it is difficult to see. I would imagine that it would be even more of an issue with the print edition. (I feel like this must be because the figures in the book are screenshot-images themselves, which would not scale like text in the e-reader.)The content of the book seems to be good. The exercises are very easy to follow, and they don't leave out steps which might be obvious to some. For someone who has never used databases or MS Access in the past, this book seems like it would be a great introductory. I will post an update at the end of this semester if any of my feelings change.

The exercises themselves are fairly easy to follow, but when it asks you to enter the data pictured in the book's figures, you'll lose your sanity. The text is far too small to read at any comfortable distance. This is series data entry we're talking about and the text is microscopic and blurry. No, it's not my eyes; 20/20 here. It's quite pathetic what textbook companies are willing to overlook to get a new edition out. If I didn't need this for class I would have burned it already.

As a beginner to Access, I really enjoyed learning from this book. It provided guided practice steps & practice lessons, as well as more complex to comprehensive exercises.

This was not the book I needed for my course, although it appeared the ISBN was the same. It cost me over $5 to return it.
