Grows, but be patient
When I first planted this product in the spring, I was disappointed...nothing happened for a couple of months and I thought they were all duds. So I wrote to the seller but they never responded (boo). The rhizomes did eventually sprout months later. I later learned that they will remain dormant until the soil warms up a LOT (I love in southern CA, so no frost ever). Good product, but seller should explain in the description about heat being needed or he is going to get lots of returns.

Nice and healthy
The quality of this ginger was great. They arrived healthy and large, and began sprouting right away. We are getting several shoots, now, and can’t wait to see what they will produce. Excited to grow enough to harvest, and taste!!

took some time
It took some time after planting for them to sprout. There was nothing wrong with them they had the sprouts and everything they were juicy and perfect. I thought this was weird but all ten are doing great. no problems and are producing great shoots.

Rotten and moldy
You can see the mold in the photo. also the spots that look peeled are soft and rotten spots. I just threw these out. Can’t even imagine trying to return them, smelly and rotten. It took quite a while for them to arrive and in the warm weather they just molded and rotted in the airtight plastic bag. As it’s now June in Oregon a replacement would get here to late to plant for this year. I knew when I ordered it was getting late but 1. Didn’t imagine it would take quite so long to get them, and 2. Thought they would arrive healthy and ready to plant. I’m just out a few bucks and learned a lesson. Next time when I order something of this nature and it says it will be a couple weeks before deliver, I’ll just cancel the order! Lesson learned.

It takes longer to establish than expected, but I hope to have a decent crop by the fall
Panted in a bed in my garden in the end of March to the beginning of April (after the last frost). Did not see any shoots sprout until the last week of June.

YES! Ginger sprouts and lives- good deal.
Just about every single one of these rhizomes took root and grew- the picture is just half the ginger planted from this seller! I sprouted the rhizomes for a few weeks in a plastic bag wrapped in a damp paper towel (leave the bag open) and then planted them in potting mix. They took off growing!!! Also, when it says '10 rhizomes' of ginger, it means 10 HUGE rhizomes- these aren't puny little half-dead things, they're big and healthy and beautiful. Highly recommend for those of you who want to grow your own ginger. I live in ND and the ginger is doing well on the counter by the heater (facing north)- ginger doesn't like direct sunlight, but it is very fond of heat. Worth the buy!

Nice LOOKING Ginger, but ALL of the buds were purposefully cut off.
NO BUDS! This picture is representative of all of the ginger in these two orders in this one package. All of the viable buds have been removed PRIOR to shipment. Hopeful the product will still root and grow. I understand the ginger should be in a dormant state for storage, but when I shop for it locally, I look for buds. Was curious when I saw they had ALL been nipped. Yet pictures on the listing, show intact buds. So, if you are expecting buds as I was, don't be dismayed when they don't appear. Other than that, it looks like good ginger for consumption. I want it for propagation and am concerned but hopeful. Will follow-up. This is a resubmitted review. The first one was disallowed. I showed the ginger in the box it was shipped in and how it was packaged. That's apparently not admissible. So, I won't show you, or tell you. I'll leave it up to your imagination. Sometimes I wonder why companies will allow so many obviously flimsy reviews to be posted, but when someone wants to inform other potential purchasers about actual aspects of their experience with their purchase, the details get censored. Hopefully this review gets through the screening process.

Bottom line, would buy again.
Not paid or sponsored. All of the roots were viable. I forgot them and killed 7 but even after drying out a good bit 3 sprouted in plastic bags with moist towels. I planted those each in their own pots and they are doing very well. Multiple shoots coming up on all of them. I am growing them indoors and had to move them so to provide more headroom as they are nearly 3 feet tall now and getting taller.
