Help your child celebrate the wonder and excitement of waiting for a new sibling to arrive in Hello in There!: A Big Sister’s Book of Waiting , a sweet interactive picture book from author Jo Witek and illustrator Christine Roussey, the New York Times bestselling creators of In My Heart . A sister-to-be is so eager to step into her role that she’s starting early! She sticks close to her mama so she can sing songs to her sibling-to-be (loudly, of course) and explain all the great things waiting in the outside world (Cupcakes! Strawberries! Swimming!). With charming text, bright full-color illustrations, and a variety of playful flaps showing the new baby blissfully tucked away in its mama’s belly, this interactive picture book is a joyful and celebratory ode to a growing family and the perfect gift for any big-sibling-to-be. Be warned, your child may want you to read this to her at bedtime every night before the baby arrives. When they learn to open the flaps to find the baby, you might hear, “Read it again! Read it again!” The Growing Hearts series celebrates the milestones of a toddler’s emotional development, from conquering fears and expressing feelings to welcoming a new sibling. “Roussey’s whimsical, scraggly, illustrations are perfectly suited to the girl’s excitement.” ― Publishers Weekly (Starred Review) “Made to withstand many eager perusals as big sisters and brothers everywhere gear up for their own big days.” ― Kirkus Reviews Read them all! Hello in There!: A Big Sister’s Book of Waiting In My Heart: A Book of Feelings Brave As Can Be: A Book of Courage All My Treasures: A Book of Joy In My Room: A Book of Creativity and Imagination With My Daddy: A Book of Love and Family My Little Gifts: A Book of Sharing My Tree and Me: A Book of Seasons Review: Wonderful book! - This is a wonderful book. Bought it for my 2 year old granddaughter who will be a big sister shortly; it works for her but she is definitely on the young side for this book. She loves to open the flaps and see the baby in mama's belly. The belly and the baby grow bigger on each page, while the child in the book does things that my granddaughter can do for her own baby sister while waiting, like sing to her. There is a page where the child is waiting and the mama is gone, and the next page parents come home with the baby. Everything is happy and sweet. At 2 my granddaughter is having a little difficulty understanding what is going to happen...this book is a great tool to help her. I was a child therapist for over 30 years, taught preschool, and raised 5 children (including preparing them for the birth of their siblings). I have never seen a better book for this purpose and highly recommend it. The only possible criticism is that the flaps are a little flimsy (at least for a 2 year old...not like the toddler lift-the-flap books). Which means it is best to read it with the child instead of giving her free access to the book. But this book is best read with an adult anyway, so that is such a minor problem that it hardly matters. Art is simple and child friendly. Book is easy to read. We love it. Review: This hardback book is very well made - This book was better than I expected. Illustrations are adorable. The story is perfect. The peekaboo‘s are a sweet surprise. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter who is expecting a baby sister soon and she is engaged in the story. Don’t hesitate to buy if this is the topic you’re looking for.

Absolutely Charming Book for Big Sister (Again!)
Bought this book for my oldest daughter as we prepare for the birth of her youngest sibling. She is almost 4 and starting to understand bits and pieces about baby developing in the womb. This book is a charming (while not scientifically accurate) way for her to associate the bump of Momma's tummy being a little baby and her future sibling, even if a bit hidden for a time. The pictures are darling, the flaps are very fun (though a few are a bit delicate and I do wonder if they'll detach and need to be reattached with tape after a little wear and tear), and the words are sweet. This is my daughter's favorite book to read as we wait for our new littlest one to emerge.

Our Daughter Loves This BOOK!
Our daughter loves this books! She especially enjoys the opening the flaps and seeing the baby! This book is very cute and I would recommend if you a toddler and are also expecting. It's especially fitting if your toddler is a girl, as the main character is a girl. One con would just be that the baby's bottom is prominent in some of the illustrations and even though some may find this cute, I don't think it's in good taste.

Sweetest big sister announcement
The sweetest book! Perfect for surprising a big sister with baby announcement! I bought this book to announce our pregnancy to our 4 year old. It walks through the excitement and curiosity of a baby in mommy’s tummy with a Big Sister announcement at the end. My 4 year old was engaged and followed along with the story.

Cutest book ever!
This is the cutest book ever!! We read it every night for months with my daughter when I was pregnant. It helped her understand and be so excited to become a big sister.

It has an unexpected illustration of a monster
The book is cute, however we decided to bring it back because at the beginning of the story it has a strange phrase and an even stranger illustration; in the context of the sister talking to the baby in the belly, she says something similar to: don’t be afraid of the shades, my light will shine on them (something like that) and the illustration shows her with huge monster made out of shades coming out of her and smiling and throwing kisses at the baby. We thought it was kind of odd and as Christians we felt more comfortable not keeping that book (thankfully our daughter didn’t see it at all). We know how deep certain things can go in a child’s mind so we decided to stay safe and we got other books that are way more normal and still beautiful and helpful in preparing our girl to welcome her sibling.
