Break it down and understand
First and foremost this book sticks to facts and does not delve into opinions or into politics. The term "simplified" in this book means being armed with knowledge which translates to us becoming educated on what is covered and not covered in the health system/ health insurance. Even those of us with medical care need to be informed on how Obamacare affects us. This book starts educating us on how insurance first got started in our country. One of the most important issues addressed, and it breaks it down for us specifically, is to let citizens see how Obamacare affects all of us regardless of age, income status and our employment status. I highly recommend this book to senior citizens to read the section on Medicare to become well informed on their health, drug, vision and dental benefits. While there is no clear cut explanation for rising costs of health services, there is a list of reasons why health services are cheaper in other countries and not here in the US. So the question remains: How do we change the system and slow down the costs? Tax breaks are included for the average citizen as well as for small businesses and large corporations. There is much to do and set up in terms of getting every individual owning health insurance but if it can be pulled off, it will work. What simplifies the whole health insurance process, or at least offers some respite, are all the links to websites that clearly give a much more detailed insight to our questions and answers. This book is definitely for everyone and I encourage everyone to read it or at least read the chapter that pertains to your group and become educated and informed.

How to be an ObamaCare expert
First, buy this book. Quite frankly, everyone should own a copy of this book, including Congress. Zephyros Press is to be commended for doing the impossible: deciphering 33,000 pages of a politically charged health care bill and condensing it into a novel sized read. This book takes the scare out of ObamaCare by helping its readers choose their own true north on the health care compass.Next, get your medical history in order! That's a must. An important thought that I got from the book was this: limits and capacity. As long as Obamacare exists, don't forget those words. The days are long gone when you got whatever you wanted whenever you wanted it.After 41 attempts by the House to repeal ObamaCare, plus a run through the Supreme Court, this bill has proved that it intends to stay-maybe. Insurance in general is based on a risk pool and it's no different with ObamaCare, which has America as its pool. This and the history of insurance are exquisitely explained by the author. The book logically describes the four crucial pillars of ObamaCare this way: lower costs, lower premiums, practice preventive care and reduced expensive care. All of which are great selling points if they hold steady. The ACA (Affordable Care Act) or ObamaCare, has several positive themes. By the way, Medicare for seniors is unaffected and preexisting conditions are no longer an issue. Those two issues are huge achievements and explained accurately in this book. One of the more serious issues with ObamaCare is the battle heating up between the Federal Government and the State Governments over policy's offered by each. One thing is for certain, as the years pass, ObamaCare will mature and its ability to cover Americans will improve one step at a time.

Very helpful and well written
WOW! Well, I Still don’t think this system is the end-all/be-all for the health care insurance cost problems facing our country today, and especially not for those of us who are either retirement age and on disability, or otherwise on very low incomes. And I also believe they could have written these new healthcare laws at least a Teensy bit less convoluted and confusing!! And it’s obviously Still going to require, as they used to say, “a Philadelphia Lawyer” to decipher them and actually Understand what all that gobbledygook means! I have to say, this book was very well thought out and written so that most laymen can at least get the gist of things. This book is laid out in sections that breaks it all down fairly well. It is broken down into 3 sections: The first part describes the current healthcare system and sort of how the new Obamacare system will change that. Section 2 breaks down the general highlights of the new system and how it will (Supposedly) interact and improve the shortcomings in the current system and the Third section breaks it down even further and goes into describing how Obamacare will (or Should) effect people according to age, income and employment status and such. All in all, I’d recommend this book to anyone that wants to try to get a handle on this ridiculously complex new system that is being Forced upon us. And I wish you all GOOD LUCK! But at least this book should Help some!

Obamacare and version of Romneycare
What is the ObamaCare Individual Mandate? ObamaCare Simplified dedicates Chapter 4 to this rule, and is also mentioned in several chapters explaining employer-sponsored insurance. The author notes the mandate is a tax penalty. People who choose not to get qualifying insurance get penalized. The next question: Do people care about getting taxed? I didn’t know that uninsured Massachusetts residents stepped up to the plate once an individual mandate was enacted. The book confirms 97 percent got insurance to be exact. And to top it all off, Governor Romney’s plan is responsible for this participation success! For me, the best explanation to the purpose of the individual mandate is at the end of Chapter 4: “The mandate will directly help close the gap because those who do not get insurance will still be paying into the system— their penalties are based partly on their income, so that those who are doing better financially pay more.” So the costs to participants and non-participants still even out. The author continually reminds readers that the individual mandate is directed toward individuals, not the employer, which is broken down further in Chapter 15. This book is a good read because it provides unbiased and holistic coverage of The Affordable Care Act.
