CTEK (56-870) Comfort Indicator Cig Plug

If your vehicle has a cigarette lighter receptacle which can be used to charge/maintain a battery, this is the perfect plug lead to use with a CTEK battery maintainer. Just unplug the battery terminal clips from the main DC power line and plug this lead in.

I bought this accesssory to use with the 12v outlet in my Cayenne Turbo. Porsche specifies a particular height for the prongs of the plug inside the outlet in order to avoid damage. This part and the CTEK charger I use it with are the exact same pieces that Porsche sells as part of their accessory range minus the Porsche logo. So, you are assured that this meets the requirements for use in your Porsche and you save about 40%. Of course it works great if it's good enough for Porsche, so I'm sure you would be happy with it in whatever vehicle you drive. The conditioning and maintainance feature of this unit leave my vehicle ready to go at any time regardless of how long it has been sitting. I am totally happy with the performance and although it was not the cheapest option, I feel that this is a good vale for a quality piece of garage equipment.

Worked as expected

Bought to conveniently hook up Porsche to a Ctek charger through the cigarette lighter. Takes just seconds now and it’s nice to have a charging status at point of connection inside the car. Connectors fit Ctek cable securely. Little expensive for what it is, but an effective solution.

Works well, but not sure of the purpose now that I have it. It does plug into the CTEK system like it should, and shows the battery level, but the CTEK unit itself already has indicator lights. I don't leave it plugged in when I drive, just because it looks stupid and blocks the outlet. So yes, it works just fine, but at least in my opinion, is totally worthless. Just get the regular lighter socket plug, no need for the indicator lights.

Works as advertised Can plug this into your 12V outlet to immediately see Green, Yellow or Red light & know the state of charge of your car battery. But the reason to buy this is when you own a CTEK battery charger, you need not connect that charger directly to your car battery. This can be very useful for those who have hard to access batteries, like me. Mine is underneath the rear cargo floor & requires removal of the spare tire to access the battery! Even if your battery is relatively easy to access, this allows you to charge it without leaving the hood open. You can route the CTEK A/C cord out one of the windows. I use with CTEK (56-864) MUS 4.3 Note: make sure your 12V outlet is on after shut off ignition. If yours are OFF when ignition off, check with your manufacturer to see if can still use to charge battery. Some are programmed to turn off so you cannot run things using current from your car battery when ignition is off but, it WILL allow the battery to be charged via the 12V outlet.
