Great rod, iffy fisherman
My son and I finally got a chance to go fishing with the RUNCL Mecury, paired with a Daiwa BG4000. The conditions were brutal, with the temperature hovering around -5 degrees Fahrenheit. We were using 6inch twitchers in the flats, and then also tried 1/4 ounce spinner bait. I mostly fished this rig, and he mostly used an older Daiwa rod with a Cormoran reel. The 20lb braid we were using was freezing on contact with the air, and made retrieval very difficult. The old rod ended up twisted and in a birdsnest, but the RUNCL and BG labored on with little trouble (aside from me casting into a tree at one point). We did not catch anything, but I did get a great feel for this rod, which is the first carbon fiber one I have tried, and I love the light weight, the sensitivity, and the long casting of the rod, I could chuck it about 50 yards, which is amazing with frozen line. This package came with a nice carry bag, and packed in rigid plastic sleeve, which I plan to use for storage. The cork handle has a nice feel, the reel attachment point has metal reinforcement for durability, and the rod assembles securely with no fussing about.

Great rod for a good price
As soon as I received the rod I was impressed. The design is great and it is an eye-catcher. It is carbon fiber and feels very light but strong. It is very sensitive so you can really feel the tap of a fish bite. It is simple and quick to expand or contract. Setup is easy and I had no problem getting the guide eyes lined up properly. I really like that you can even extend the grip to be even longer for more control when fighting a big fish. My only complaint is that the telescoping sections don't secure themselves very much, it's really just tension/friction based, and it feels too easy to contract it back down. But that shouldn't ever accidentally happen in regular use so I don't think it's a major problem. It even comes with a carrying bag and a cap to protect the end when it is contracted down.

Great Product and Excellent Customer Service
I was very pleased with this rod, as I purchased it specifically for a sea kayaking trip in Baja, where travel to and from plus carrying on the deck of the kayak while paddling, make a collapsible rod much better than the 2-piece rods I'd struggled with on other trips. It worked really well, in all respects, until a large fish and an awkward position resulted in the next to top segment snapping and cutting the line. I continued to use the rod, minus the missing sections for the rest of the trip and was surprised by how well it worked that way. I want to emphasize how great RUNCL was when I returned and notified them of the problem. After a bit of correspondence, they quickly agreed there must have been a defect and replaced the rod at no charge! I'm VERY impressed with the company and recommend them!

Great looking rod!
The media could not be loaded. I often take my small vehicle on trips so its great to finally have a rod that is 2 pieces. It comes with a felt case which rolls and ties together. I love the color i chose, its a slate grey with a green tint to it. The rod is light and well made. I love the cork grips and the mix of black with the natural cork color. Its an affordable great looking rod that looks and feels like it should be more expensive.

Great for Fresh Water Fishing
My brother in law needed a new pole so as a gift, my husband got this for him. They took it out along with two new rods I had bought for my husband. This reel is very lightweight with a nice cork handle and it is very easy to put a reel on it. They caught three catfish on it. The pole was perfect, it was easy to feel hits and he said it had enough give to easily pull the fish up but not enough to where he feared it would snap. All in all, for a lighter medium pole, it’s great for most fresh water fishing.

This one is longer so he can use it for different types of fishing and the quality is every bit as good as my first purchase
I purchased this for the hubby's birthday since I had ordered one before and he raved about it. This one is longer so he can use it for different types of fishing and the quality is every bit as good as my first purchase. The rod easily telescopes out and collapses with no problems. The carbon rod is super lightweight and the ceramic loops let the line glide freely. I personally love that it folds up easily and has a great case taking up very little space in our boat. You will not be disappointed in this rod.

First Class All The Way
I now have all three lengths of the Runcl Jupiter spinning rod. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about these rods. Balance, weight, action, durability—they have it all. And the presentation via impeccable packaging is second to none. When you get through the cardboard and see the case, you will believe they made a mistake and sent you a $500 rod. This company has so much savy about fishing and fishermen, that I won’t hesitate to own and use anything they offer.

Great Product
This is an amazing Fishing Rod! When it arrived it was in a very secure package and in its own sheath. It is a medium strength rod and perfect for all around fishing in fresh waters. I will be looking for more RUNCL product to purchase and for the price you can’t beat it.

Just as good.
The media could not be loaded. I am becoming more and more disillusioned with all the big name fishing tackle manufacturers. I have had box seats that snap, line guides that are corroded and overall cheap components. If that’s the best they can do then I’m going to try a manufacturer I haven’t heard of and give them a go. Now, RUNCL. I got a lure of that make and it was probably the best quality I have ever seen – genuinely. So let’s see what they can do spinning rod wise? The rod is nice and light weight but has a nice test curve and is flexible enough for a small rod. The line guides seem a different angle to normal fixing but it makes sense when you think about it and it’s not the first rod I’ve seen like this so maybe it’s a new thing. Point is they are good and strong and appear quite secure. The reel seat could be a bit more robust for me but I am being a bit picky as its solid, it works and the reel doesn’t come loose so I can’t really complain. You know what, I am pleased with this rod; it “feels” right. It is comfortable with nice length, weight and casting ability. As for the cost... well, this rod would be twice the price with some of the big name brands and probably not as good. Reckon I’m a convert.Hope this was helpful.

Stunning rod!
First of all I have got to say that this is a fantastic rod!As others have said the quality is excellent and for this price it’s truly amazing. The whippings and epoxy finish are very neat and consistent. Aesthetically the rod looks brilliant with the darker cork and fittings. The action is quite fast but progressive. The casting is precise without any noticeable rod twist so hitting them tight snaggy spots is a joy with this rod. Would also make for an excellent stalking rod in my opinion. The rod comes in protection packaging which doubles as a good storage case and the rod bag feels very high quality. I’m not sure how this could be made at such a competitive price but I honestly can’t justify spending more on a big brand.Stunning rod at an amazing price. Can’t recommend enough.

Perfect!
For the past 25 years of fishing I have stuck to the big name brands for my rods and reels despite the significantly increasing price. That was until a catastrophic failure of more than one rather expensive brand name rod but I won't name brands. The lesson to be learned here Is that more expensive doesn't always mean better.I have purchased lures and reels from runcl in the past and been extremely impressed with the build quality. I saw that they had a spinning rod advertised made from a carbon blank at a very competitive price of just under £50So I thought o would give it a go.The build quality is excellent, the wrapping on the guides is nice and uniform and is set out in a nice design. The stainless steel line guides/eyes are set on a forward angle and really make the rod look nice. The lacquer/varnish used to cover the guide wraps is nice and thick with no bubbles and with the guides being stainless steel we know that corrosion won't be a problem. The Cork handle is nice quality and there is a palm grip cut back to the carbon blank wich gives a nice positive feel and minimises the chance of the rod being pulled from your hand when tackling larger fish. This rod is lovely and light but don't let that fool you as it has excellent power that leaves you with confidence to really flick the lure out. The rod feels relatively stiff in hand however has a beautiful action with a very positive feeling balance point right at the palm cut out.You really can't fault this rod, a carbon rod with a cracking action all at a competitive price point of under £50. Don't be tied down to crazy priced big name brands, give this a go and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Got the 6ft Mercury version and couldn't be more delighted. The finish on the rod is superb
Got the 6ft Mercury version and couldn't be more delighted. The finish on the rod is superb. The balance is great and it has real power in it. In the past rods at this price have had the backbone of a wet dishrag! This however is totally different and has a quality feel. You know that you can fish with confidence that there is plenty of power in reserve. Great rod at a great price.
