If removed will these ruin the wood/stain finish on the stairs? And how long do they last?

Hello Lindsay, If you are planning to take off the stair treads, please do this first, use a hair dryer to soften up the glue, then slowly pull up the tread. If you feel that there are few glue left, please use a googone to remove the excess glue. And also this will not ruined the wood stain finish on the stairs.
