Perfect for Tarta de Santiago!
I fell in love with Tarta de Santiago (almond cake) while on the Camino to Santiago and wanted to make one to share with family and friends. For the traditional cross on top of the tarta, I had originally cut out a paper stencil of a Santiago cross that I found online and that worked well, but I plan to make this cake over and over so I decided to get this tool. I was not disappointed. This cross of St. James worked perfectly to decorate my tarta. I appreciate that there are two sizes, too. I used the large one (8"x4") for my 9-inch cake and the small one (5.5"x2.75") for my smaller ones. It has a nice handle on the top of the cross to allow you to easily remove it after you've dusted the cake with confectioner’s sugar. ¡Buen Camino!

Superb cross for the cake.
I was really surprised to find this stencil on Amazon. After seeing the Hairy Biker's program in Spain, where the fabulous cake , - tarta de Santiago was made with the cross stencil, I searched for the fancy stencil on Amazon, and voila!! there it was. It is very well made, and washes up easily. It is certainly worth buying if you want to make the authentic looking tarta.

Necesario para decorar correctametne la tarta de Santiago
Set de dos cruces de Santiago para decorar la tarda de almendra de Santiago.Son metálicas de suficiente resistencia y tienen una asa que sirve para retirarlas de la tarta con facilidad y para colgarlas al mismo tiempo cuando no las usamos.Por si alguien se anima, les dejo la receta de la tarta:-4 huevos.-250g almendra molida (2x125g mercadona).-200 a 250g azúcar.-Ralladuras de 1 limón.-Azúcar en polvo/glass.Se baten (con tenedor) los huevos con el azúcar y se le va añadiendo la almendra hasta obtener una pasta y al final la ralladura de limón.Precalentar horno 10 min. a 200C.En el molde (circular) se pone papel de horno y se vierte la pasta.Se deja a 180ºC 25 min. aprox. (El tiempo dependerá del tipo de horno; si pinchamos con un palillo y sale seco, está lista).Finalmente, una vez fria, colocamos la cruz sobre la tarta y espolvoreamos el azúcar glass. Y al retirar la cuz, nuestra tarta estará lista.
