Pearls Low-Sodium Large Ripe Pitted Olives, Pack of 12, 6 oz Cans

THESE OLIVES ARE GOOD!! FIRST, THEY HAVE REDUCED SODIUM IN THEM, AND I HAVE A-FIB, AND ON A LOW SALT DIET, SO EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS; SECOND, THEY ARE PERHAPS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE OLIVES WITH NO CHEMICAL, OR ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS; JUST MANZENELLA OLIVES, SEA SALT, AND WATER. MOST OLIVES HAVE AN INGREDIENT CALLED FERROUS GLUCONATE WHICH I BELIEVE IS USED TO TURN THE SKIN OF THE OLIVES DARK BLACK ( IN THE OLD DAYS, THEY USED TO USE LYE, SO AT LEAST THAT WAS AN IMPROVEMENT!! ) SO CONSEQUENTLY, THE OLIVES HAVE A MORE NATURAL COLOR, DIFFERENT SHADES OF GRAY, OR LIGHT BLACK, AND NOT THE JET BLACK COLOR NORMALLY EXPECTED. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT FERROUS GLUCONATE IS, OR IF ITS HARMFALL AT ALL, BUT DOESN'T THE INGREDIENT LABEL SOUND HEALTHIER WITH JUST OLIVES, SEA SALT, AND WATER??

Taste really good and I don’t miss all the added salt that the other brands have!

I have been ordering these olives since my local grocery store stopped carrying them. The taste is really very good, I use them in salads every night, and in some dishes I cook. I have only gotten one or two cans that did not taste quite as good as the others, however that was the only time. They are very good most of the time. I need to have the low sodium because of a medical condition so they work very well. These olives have my recommendation!

I have ordered several of cases of these olives. Food product quality is good. Maybe, only one soft semi-bad olive per-can. All other olives are firm & tasty. The reduced sodium content is a bonus. They definitely are not as salty as the regular packed olives. With this brand you are able to taste the black olive accurately. I have used the packing juice from the can in soups, stews & gravies. Works very well in recipes along with the olives.

Sadly, I bought a case because I usually buy the regular black olives and I thought wow-low sodium. These taste gross-I couldn’t give them away. I buy the regular and rinse them really well in a colander. The texture and taste are far better than low sodium,

The “best by” date on the cans was 2028, which is good. I’ve always been very happy with the quality of this brand of olives over the years. However, Eight of the twelve cans arrived with small but obvious dents. This may significantly decrease the shelf life of the olives.
