Easiest yarn to work with
This is by far the best yarn I've ever worked with! It's so thick and soft. I first used this a year ago when I was pregnant with my son and since then this is the only yarn I work with. Other baby yarn sheds A LOT which is awful when your baby likes chewing on fabric. This is perfect because it doesn't shed, doesn't stretch out, and doesn't tear or unravel. I just made another baby blanket for my pregnant sister using lilac dove. I used baby lilac on the border and the lilac is a bit different than in the lilac dove but it doesn't make it look weird at all. I typically use an 8 mm hook and do either a single or double crochet (depending on the desired breathability). Single crochet makes it super heavy and warm where double crochet I use when I want to make a blanket to keep in my son's crib. The double crochet makes it so that if the blanket covers his face he can still easily breathe. Also with this being so thick there isn't a way where it can compress enough to get around his neck and strangle him so I feel safe having this in his crib with him. For baby blankets I use three big ball skeins and it makes a blanket roughly 47" x 47" using single crochet. I made a crib blanket using double crochet that is 19" x 22" and used less than one big ball and made a car seat blanket using one big ball. This yarn goes a long way.

2/3 balls were perfect, but...
I was absolutely in love with this yarn when I recieved the first ball, it was plush, soft, puffy, everything I wanted so I ordered a second ball. The second ball seemed like the yarn had been flattened. It was still soft, but you can see in the pictures it just wasn't the same as the 1st ball. Color was a tad off, definitely not as plush and feels thinner in hand. I've ordered different colors (making a blanket for a co worker's baby) and that one was the same quality as the 1st ball. Hoping the 2nd ball for her blanket will be the same standard.

Was very very pleased
First off in order to make a baby blanket I used one and a half full sized balls of yarn. I know that is a question many of you have but is not often answered on here.I made this yarn as baby blanket for my friends baby shower and it was a huge success everyone wanted to touch it and hold it and snuggle it.The yarn is beautiful. It's very soft. Thick and does seem like it will hold up well and be easy to wash ( super delicate) or spot clean which is good for babies and kids. The only real fault with the yarn was that there were places were the yarn had broken and been knotted back together which did create little bumps - didn't seem like it would rip or was in danger of coming undone but it just didn't always look so pretty.I do also highly recommended a simple pattern very complex lacy patterns don't really show up in the yarn but seed stitch or a hybrid of knit stitch and a few rows of a yarn over based lace pattern do look beautiful and make it all the more fun for kids to snuggle.

Love this yarn...
I used this yarn to make a baby blanket for a friend who is expecting. This yarn is very easy to work with, soft and light weight. I used 2 colors to make the blanket shown in the photos. The taupe color was used to make the “marching elephants” border around the edge. I have another baby blanket to make very soon, and there is no other choice for me except the Bernat Baby Blanket Big Ball yarn. The project came together quickly and I was very pleased with the results. Give it a try..... you will be “hooked” as well!

Loved this yarn for baby blanket
This yarn is very soft and very thick.I bought one skein at local fabric store but didn't get enough to finish baby blanket. I was working too far from the store to go back and buy another so I ordered online. I was nervous about I being a different lot number and the colors not matching. But they matched perfectly, exactly what I wanted. I also bought a small dove grey skein to create a border. The label wasn't clear how many skeins I needed for a project, almost like there was some printing missing. It also wasn't clear what colors were included, so I winged it to match the dove grey. Luckily I picked out the right one and my friend loved the blanket. I'd buy this again.

I love this yarn!!
This yarn is some of the softest, easiest to use yarn I have ever worked with. After using this to make a baby blanket for a friend, I purchased more to make a toddler blanket for the same child, and enough Bernat Blanket yarn to make afghans for all of my children, my sister, and another friend. It never splits; it does occasionally have the odd splice inside a ball, but that doesn't happen often and because the yarn is so fluffy it's easy to hide. It's also machine washable, which is GREAT for things you'll use around your house often.

Check dye lot numbers!!!!!
I purchased three skeins of this yarn. Besides it not being enough to finish my project (my fault), in the light of day, the last skein is considerably lighter in color than the other two. Again, my fault for not checking dye lots. Assuming, wrongly, that the dye lots would be consistent in one order. So, buyer beware! And check your dye lots upon arrival! I will not order yarn online ever again! This was to be a blanket for my first grandchild -- unfortunately, I am starting again with yarn I bought at a store.

Soft, plush yarn, but some skeins have way too many knots
I ordered several of these, and most were great, soft, squishy, plush, but 2 had a lot of knots and joins. One of those two is unusable, I had 6 joins (and ugly knots) in the first quarter of the skein. Unfortunately it was too late to return and replace. You might be better off balling these as soon as you get them so you can evaluate the number of joins and replace if necessary.

Misleading puzzle yarn
Ive bought this product twice and the first time it was really good didnt have any issues. However the second time I purchased the item I had really tough time knitting as the wool did not roll out smoothly it was knotted up in alot of places so i spent most of my time untangling and figuring out where the string started again but the most disappointing thing was that it wasnt just one big piece. As I was knitting the thread would just finish and then I have to find the new string as it was broken in to many peieces not just one ball. At the end i had to unwind and untangle the whole ball just so I could figure how many different peices it was cut in to. Really wasted my time as i was expecting a consistent product:

How many joins in one ball of yarn ????
I have used this yarn before with no problems, but I just purchased a new ball... bearing in mind that one ball knits a pram size blanket with NO joins . I have knitted about 5 inches of the blanket and have already had to contend with 6 knots in the yarn and I can see there are more to come . Very disappointed because I love the yarn and the colours are great.. it’s not the end of the world and it still looks great .. but so frustrating!!!!

Absolutely brilliant
Fantastic yarn, great colour, the material is absolutely great! I am a beginner in crochet, but I was able to make a baby blanket with an 8mm hook and no problems at all. The blanket came out fantastic and it is so warm! I have also just washed it at 40 degrees and it came out exactly the same, really good quality, I love it. I will definitely buy it again!

Hmmm
Lovely yarn but why in the first 20 mins of working it i have 15 different strands and not a continuous ball

Was lovely until it wasn't
This wool is lovely it is really soft and fluffy and makes beautiful baby blankets. The reason I have given such a low review is because about 2/3 of the way through the ball the wool started to have knots in it and the wool beyond that point had lost a lot of if texture and looked as though it had been previously worked and pulled and out and balled back up
