The gas hookup is confusing because they give you a 90° fitting to attach the gas to the unit that reduces the 1/2" diameter to a 3/8" flared male, and says in the instructions that you have to supply an adapter to make the 1/2" service line attachment. My propane company sent a plumber over to hook it up and he didn't use their 90° fitting. ..? Review: fireplace - Even better than we expected. Solid fireplace and beautiful!

Pleasantly surprised that it works so well for the price.
Easy to assemble and install. Thermostat control works perfect with remote control and heat output better than 9 yr old ventless NG fireplace.

Stew Review Thumbs Up
We have had this fireplace for a year now going into the second season of using it and I will say it is a great fireplace. This unit heats my entire house it is that effective. This unit is solid wood and I mean SOLID it is very heavy every piece of it was heavy. I would have gave it 5 stars but the remote is not very good, that is the only complaint I have with it, there is no down button for the thermostat set, there is only a up and you have to hold it down until it goes back through the the temps to get to where you want it. Also you have to change the 4 double A batteries once a month but that happened on my old fireplace also. Over all you are getting a A+ quality unit for a less expensive price. Make sure you have a vent somewhere in the room or crack a window about 5 inches. This is a Vent Free Fireplace but that just means it has no Vent you still have to have some kind of ventilation in the room just like for all Vent Free gas heaters.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
This fireplace looks great. Upon delivery the instructions did not fit this fireplace . Called Factory Buys Direct they had me install the unit by modifying it so that the unit sticks out 1 inch rather than flush with mantle. It worked two times after gas company hooked it up. Now the unit will not work. Called the manufacturer and found out this fireplace was almost 3 years old and NOT under warranty. They did sent me the part to fix it for free and told me it was NOT under warranty. I had to pay for the install of new part. This fireplace was only 6 months old ( from my purchase). Factory buys direct never explained that they are selling old outdated units. OUT of warranty. To large to send back to Amazon and pay for all the related costs.
