Splat Vegan and Cruelty-Free Semi-Permanent Hair Color Dye (6 Fl Oz, MIDNIGHT RUBY)

Always a great dye for color and coverage, but obviously it stains my counters, tub and floors horrendously, though I think this is my fault for being a messy applicator. Worked pretty good on my dark brown roots, and extremely vibrant on my bleached sections. The dye applies kind of like a conditioner and is easy to run your fingers through your hair for even coverage. It is a little slippery so it's easy to make a mess. Use a shirt you don't care about and cover your floors if you're worried about stains.

Purchased this to do a red overtone to my daughter long dark brown hair. It turned out amazing and has lasted months so far. Of course with any reds it has lightened with time, but has lasted months way longer than any salon product we’ve paid to have applied. Non drying- I wouldn’t recommend using their bleaches- they are pretty harsh.

So, I've now used this a few times and I am never disappointed with the result. It is messy. I put paper all over my counter top. Also, I will always be amazed at the crime seen when washing out the color. It is a lot and if you don't clean it right away, then it stains. Also, for a few days, the color will transfer on clothes and pillows. I wear a satin bonnet to bed and dark clothes for the first week. The gloves it comes with are awful so get different gloves or just be prepared that your gonna dye your hands. With all of that said, I am an avid hair person and I've been dying hair for years. My friends and family come to me for their hair needs. Oh also, this look was achieved because I did highlights and then splat. Picture taken on day 2. Usually the perfect color is after about 2 or 3 washes.

While the color is very pretty, the product is difficult to use in that it stains so you cannot wash it off in the shower you must use either your bathroom or kitchen sink. If you live in a hot area, please be aware that when you perspire the damp areas of skin around your face will show up pink if you bought the red as I did. This is a semi-permanent dye which I overlooked when I ordered it.

It’s really good, stains really bad so be careful when you’re applying it , don’t let it get on any surfaces. Use petroleum around your hair line n from your wrist to your elbows cause it stains really bad . You’ll need like 3 pairs of gloves too

I bleached my hair for this a bit, this is what I lightened to and how it turned out. This was done 11/28 and 2 weeks later it looks exactly the same (with lots of showers! I work fast food so my hair gets really greasy) As always be careful with staining, I know people complain about it for their tubs/etc but some baking soda and nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol gets it all out easy

It did work well on my hair but I wouldn't buy this brand again. The reasons for not buying it again was the staining of EVERYTHING! The instructions were very clear that it would stain I had no choice but to wash it out in the bathtub (not sure how anyone could wash it out in a sink since it takes a lot of rinsing). It stained the porcelain sink despite me being VERY careful and washing it immediately. It also stained the porcelain bathtub while rinsing it out.

I have medium brown virgin hair and the product is is pigmented. However, after one shampoo my red streaks turned PURPLE...! Although the purple is pretty, it was not my intention, so looses a star. Regarding shipping, yeah, like others said the tip broke off and product spilled into the box.

Ok, so a positive: The colour is definitely vibrant when putting on the hair. Shipped quickly and all contents were in the box. Now the experience: I have used MANY semi permanent hair colours and brands. I like to have a peek-a-boo effect with a different colour underneath my VERY blonde hair. I put this over my semi permanent black that had faded to a light brown and while the colour is very nice, (it said it was for dark hair), I have never worked with a runnier hair colour. It felt like a watered down tempra paint like we used to use in kindergarten. The smell wasn't terrible but not pleasant either. Reminded me of plasticene. Upon rinsing, it bled like I've never experienced before. I left it on for 1.5 hrs before rinsing it in cold water. I can already tell shampooing it is going to be a bloody mess for sure and is the reason I will never buy Splat colour again. It did not stain my white tub thank goodness, but I'm sure if I had not cleaned up right away, it would have. I prefer Iroiro colour (too expensive on here) but for 15.00 I decided to try this and see why so many use it. It was a total waste of money imo, and I will likely just throw the rest in the garbage. By all means try for yourself, but in my experience tonight, it is a hard NO for me. Thanks for reading. Happy coloring!

J'avais un restant de rouge dégueux dans les cheveux j'en avais marre alors j'ai prise cette couleur pour le faire disparaître 🤣🤣🤣. La couleur est très belle mais mon dieu que ça dégorge et que da tâche partout faite attention c'est tâchant . Mais elle est bien jai rincé abondamment et il sont toujours aussi foncé. Je n'ai pas a ne plaindre . 👌 je vais la reprendre . A date c'est ma préférée. Je vais tester noir aussi . Les autre teinture coloré ne reste pas au bout d'une semaine je dois les refaire . Je sais pas ce que vous mettez dedans mais c'est top . 👌
