Take your time
This turned out to be my favorite build so far. This was my first boat build. First know if you run into any issues such as advise or if you break a part the folks at Dumas are a phone call away and they will actually talk with you! I had some trouble with the directions, but I usually have trouble with directions in general. I found You Tube to be very helpful. Unlike plastic models this is real wood and you can always fix screw ups with real wood. No mine is not perfect, but it turned out good enough that my wife displayed it on the big eating table! I did not add the RC to this boat however I am currently building the Dumas triple cock pit boat and I am thinking it my get the RC kit on the other hand these are so nice I may not want to put them in the water.

Not for beginners.
This model is not for beginning modelers. That being said, if you are of intermediate status then you may enjoy this model. It can be made rc (I did without much problem at all). Bear in mind that to go rc you will need a motor, esc, servo, transmitter, receiver, batteries, charger and various miscellaneous other rc items, so realistically the price for all things needed to have a running, driving boat will be north of 400 dollars.Seeing your mahogany artwork cruising the open waters.... priceless!

Dad gift
Bought it for my dad for Father’s Day. He hasn’t started building it yet, but has opened it and has said it’s very cool. Also mentioned it would be an intense / demanding build.

What a kit!
Why did I wait so long to attempt this kit!? While it may seem daunting to some.. like me... It's actualy quite simple! Looking forward to finishing her up. "Phil's Hobby" did a great job of packing and sending off the kit nice and quick. Good price too. Give them your business. I will happily continue to do so.

Four Stars
Have not started construction; components look to be of high quality albeit a little pricey.
