Great manual
This book is a real gem - a very well written instruction manual for practicing the classic Jacobson progressive muscle relaxation with a lot of advice on using it - and how not to use it.

this book is very helpful in outlining the steps to progressive relaxation. At times, it's a little redundant, but other than this it really is a good and helpful book! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to know more about relaxation and how to teach a client or yourself how to truly relax.

A lot of great information about stress management and progressive relaxation skills. A step by step guide of tensing instructions of sixteen muscle groups is presented. Scripts of relaxation coping imagery and the use of self-control desensitization techniques are presented in chapter 12. Slowed, diaphragmatic breathing is employed to generate stress-free bodily sensations.
