I bought this to hold in a large abdominal hernia just above my belly button. I actually have 3 abdominal hernias. But this one is the biggest and most troublesome. I read a bazillion Amazon reviews on different abdominal binders. You will definitely want to measure your waste before purchasing any hernia belts. I did a lot of research before deciding that this would be a good option for myself. As with all things medical, each person's situation is different, and you have to weigh the pros and cons to make a choice. My concerns with using such a device: putting pressure on my pelvic floor, making a hernia worse, making my abdominal walls weaker from too much use. My reasons for looking into such a device were to be able to continue my active lifestyle, do yard work, lift heavy things, bend over a lot, etc. without aggravating my biggest hernia, or making it worse. I don't wear it unless I am going to be lifting something heavy, doing yard work, or bending over a lot doing a certain task (picking up pinecones). I have had it for about a month, I think. It seems to be really good quality. I strap it on pretty tight to hold support the abdominal wall/hernia. I am short wasted so I'm glad I got this one. The 9 inch would have been way too long. It does shift a little bit when bending over a bit, but not badly. I just pull it down a smidge. I highly recommend reading a bunch of different reviews and looking for people with a similar body type and activity level before purchasing a product like this. I am approximately 37-38 inches at my belly button(because of the hernia), and 40 at the hip. I purchased the S/M and it's a true to size. I wasn't sure if I would use the pad that you use to push in the hernia. It seemed huge when I first put it on, but I am so glad I have it. It's really awesome that it's adjustable/customizable to cover a certain spot/hernia. You could purchase another if you needed multiple. I think using the push-in pad is a major benefit to holding the hernia into your abdominal wall and supporting around the hole. Definitely measure yourself before ordering. I LOVE this belt. I have been able to lift 50lb. pavers, dog food bags, hay bales, bending over a ton, and I am not soar, with a swollen, aggravated hernia at the end of the day when I take this off. It does what I purchased it for. Hernia is inside, not pushed out and painful. Long term, I will have to get the hernia fixed, but I am not in a place to do that currently. This is a temporary tool to help me with my current life goals and I am very grateful for this product. I will definitely purchase this product again when I need another one. I am sure it will wear out eventually. This is a great product for a good price. Being able to be active and productive without making my hernia worse is a blessing. I don't know about wearing it against bear skin. If you don't want it be seen, I would personally put on a snug fitting tank top to wear under it so it doesn't rub your skin. I usually just wear it over my t-shirt and jeans without any problems. If you wore it under your jeans, you wouldn't have to take it off to go to the bathroom. It will feel pretty tight, but that is the key for what it's supposed to do. Seems like a really great company that has a lot of high-quality products to help people for a decent price.

I am not one to sit down and write a review. So this is a must read review. If you don’t have time to read it all, just buy this product! I have been a hernia sufferer for years. I get them removed and it’s not long before they come back. I’ve had several intestinal issues and surgeries. That being said, i have spent years depressed because my hernia is always a bother. I just sat down one day and wondered if there was such a thing as a hernia belt. And low and behold, i found this (others too) but i liked the reviews of this one. That being said, i just got it yesterday. Wore it the whole day and for once.....had the best night sleep EVER. I just got back from shopping, didn’t wear it. Before anything else i put it back on and sat down to write this. It truly is amazing. Gives you that comfort of not needing to constantly hold your stomach. Is it comfortable, yes! You know you’re wearing it but it is not bulking and uncomfortable. The material is not stiff so even with my arthritis, i can pull it to wear i need it. I’m ashamed at all the doctors I’ve visited and never once did one mention this kind of thing. It’s truly heaven sent and changed my life. Just in 24 hours. I’m just a regular girl no ties to this company. Sincerely putting this out there for those that have suffered as i have, hoping to get you relief. Just buy it. You too will be sitting down in 24 hours to write a review. So thankful to have found this. Ps. It came next day too. That was awesome Update: weeks later, I’m still in awe of this belt. I have been missing out on so much life because of my stomach hernia from weakend intestines. This belt has given me my life back serious folks, i know the pain and suffering from hernias. If I’m moving around now, so will you. I wear it every night to bed, don’t even know it’s there and by morning my hernia is back in where it belongs and i have a productive day. I wear it in the day time too but religiously every night. Even if my hernias not poking out, i wear it. And that seems strange to write because my hernia has ALWAYS poked out. Soooooo, believe me, It’s absolutely changed my life and want everyone who suffers to hear or read this and try it. You won’t regret it.

I first put it on wrong (see directions) so there was an extra unfastened flap. The label fastens on top of the umbilical panel so it shows in front. Had the product been a bit more generous on the Velcro, it could have fastened either way, which is why the product didn't get 5 stars. It is comfortable, has stretch and support. I also bought, at the same time, a new Ergodyne Proflex back support (to replace one I have outgrown, unfortunately) to give me extra support when lifting boxes and doing construction. On this other product, the extra support is in the back, but it also gives quite a bit of support in the front. Both of these supports will be useful for different reasons and activities. This one is a bit less bulky and is slightly less supportive. If you do not have an umbilical hernia, you don't have to wear the round extra support pad, but if you do have a hernia, the pad does help hold in the belly to reduce pain. These devices can cause muscle atrophy if worn too much, so follow doctor instructions on how to keep core muscles toned.

I ordered this belt on a whim the day after my husband's double-hernia repair. He came home with an enormous white stretchy compression belt from the surgery center, and was told he needed to wear it for a month (!) to aid in his recovery. That little detail definitely wasn't in the 'so you need a hernia repair' brochure..... Anyhoo, he was complaining quite a bit about that compression garment digging into him and being oppressively uncomfy, so wifey hopped onto Amazon and saw this item and poof, 24 hours later it was on our doorstep. GAME CHANGER, folks! The fit is totally customizable, and he actually felt more supported with this belt than the one the surgical team issued him. Material is soft and doesn't chafe (a big deal with him having to wear this thing almost non-stop). Highly recommend!

This is a nice product overall, but it is so large and bulky that there is no way to wear decent clothes over it. You'll have to buy special pants with another couple of inches of waist to make it work. Plus, it does tend to slide around all day because of the size. Sitting digs into your sides and moves the belt around. Really, only good if you want to wear sweats and stand up all day long. They need to offer a smaller version that doesn't go from your pelvic bone to your sternum.

This hernia belt has made a world of difference and my pain level. I have pretty much no pain when wearing this belt. I'm a very large man 6 ft 3 in 303 lb with a pretty big gut. My belly measures about 54-in relaxed I simply measured my belly and ordered according to the chart. I wear this brace when I'm at work for 8 hours +. This brace comes with brace bars vertically to support back and gut which is pretty comfortable. as long as you're not sitting down for long periods at a time. when you sit down they tend to dig in a little bit because they're Ridgid but with the slight adjustment it's really not a problem. the positives outweigh the negatives . that's why I took off one star for comfort. As a side note it tends to add a slimming effect also. But no need to worry guys it has an industrial back brace look you're not going to be accused of wearing Spanx LOL .I suggest anybody's suffering with I would say to the minor side of hernia should definitely give this belt a try.. what's the worst that could happen ?you have to return it. I really think it could help anybody dealing with these issues. I have a double hernia minor inflammation it was getting way worse until I start using this belt and it's actually pushed it back in. my belly button has gone back in as well. I won't do any kind of work without it on. when I get home I take it off and function as normal. but as soon as I go to work or try to do any chores around the house I definitely put this belt on. seems to work for me and for 30 some dollars. To me it's well worth it... I hope this review helps anybody considering buying this belt. PS. I forgot to mention there's a little insert that you put on the inside of the belt that velcros to help push back in your navel or on the hernia either or. I found it quite helpful in the beginning. I do not wear it anymore because after a long period time it tends to bother me but everybody is different. it's a nice little feature to have if you need it. And in the beginning I did use it quite a lot.

I used this for an umbilical hernia. It kept the pain at bay by keeping the hernia from coming out more. I found it easy to use and comfortable to wear. It had adequate support and did not roll. Definitely a great tool for hernia management. It kept me supported until I could get my repair surgery done.

I already had one surgery for Umbilical Hernia and didn't want to have to have another. I bought this thing to assist he holding back my Diastasis Recti (thats when an old guys stomach pops out when he is trying to exercise and do chin ups or sit ups) that popping out can cause another Umbilical Hernia. Plus further damage the stomach. This belt will not support even .01% on larger stronger type male. Its only a cheapo thermal belt This Ergonomic Umbilical Hernia Belt – Abdominal Binder for Hernia Support is extremely weak, it will not hold back my stomach in the slightest, its way too stretchy. The description used the word rigid, that is a big lie. Its no better than what you can buy cheaper at Academy . And FYI that guy in the picture must me 5 foot 2 because even largest one they sell will not cover the whole belly I did find some use for by wearing in while I slept, there is actually a small benefit from that. However, it does not work if you are moving around, its too cheezey weak and stretches with the slightest pressure rendering it useless

I got this belt for an umbilical hernia. It is a well made product and I am happy with my purchase. I am 5 11 and I weigh 280 pounds. I have a big belly area to cover so I found it was better to lie on my couch and put belt on so I could pull the belt tighter to get maximum tightness. I got the 2xl size. a bit tight to get on but it worked. I wish belt was 3 inches bigger but hey i could be a little skinnier too. :) This belt doesn't roll up easy once in place. It is a bit restrictive due to its width but being in construction I still managed to be able to move ok in it and do my work carefully. Velcro is good quality and I got about 8 months out of mine with a lot of abuse on the belt. If you are not rough with the product I'm sure you can get much more life out of it. I would definitely buy it again. Works well! better than some other belts I used in the past. Over all great stitching on the product. Very durable overall.
