Drop-in replacement and works great
This was purchased to replace one in a Rheem condensing unit as a preventative maintenance since other components (capacious and wiring terminals) were worse for wear. The contractor was a direct replacement and features a removable protective piece above the solenoid contacts.

Keep A Spare
If you are a DIYer get one for a spare. Find the part number for your a/c unit and get a replacement just in case. My a/c unit seemed to have a mind of it's own, I noticed that the outside compressor was not shutting off. After disconnecting the power and checking to see what was going on I noticed that the contactor was not disconnecting. After further inspection of the contactor it was clear to me it needed to be replaced, it was shot. Cheap fix, saved me from an expensive repair call. The old connector held up until this one arrived. Easy install, take a picture before removing any wires. And please don't forget to disconnect power to the unit. If your outside a/c unit will not shut off or will not power on check the contactor. Besides keeping a spare capacitor also have a spare contactor just in case.

Solid unit
I used this product to replace the contactor in my Trane heat pump outdoor unit that failed due to ant infestation (even though the existing unit was also an enclosed design). This seems to be a solid, high quality part, with all the connector lugs needed for my unit and standard base mounting so no modifications needed. There are less expensive items out there but I went with this one because it had all the same lugs as the previous part and I didn't need to modify the wiring. I did find that some of the existing female lugs weren't tight after removal from the old part, so compressed those with pliers and then had a snug fit. Took care of the ant problem before installing and it has been working well for over a month now.

Stops ants!
A common cause of failure to these contactors in Texas, Oklahoma, etc. is that ants find their way into the unit and die on the contacts. Then their friends try to save them and soon you have a pile of dead ants in the contacts and stops the outside unit from running. This is the only contactor that I’ve found that has the contacts enclosed under a plastic cover. It has little plastic tabs that block entry from the screw terminals. Glad to see this kind of feedback getting to the manufacturers and improving their products.

Worked!
Easy to install and this fixed my issue with my air conditioner not starting. Recommend you replace your capacitor at the same time since you're in there, it's a cheap fix to avoid future issues.
