Nothing Short of Fantastic!
Ok. I was skeptical at first. I admit. I mean, why not just flush your pen with lukewarm water, right? I collect fountain pens, especially vintage ones. I have very few modern fountain pens. So, I am very careful what I choose to put in them. But, occasionally, I get a pen that really needs cleaned out from years of dried ink. Or, I have a nib that just isn't writing so wet as I know it can, and rinsing with lukewarm water isn't doing the trick. So, I decided to give this magical stuff a try. Wow. Let me say that again. Wow! I put a few drops of this in warm water and let the pen sit for a bit and it seems to get the old ink to loosen up and come right out. When I am working on an older pen that I can't comfortably get the section off to install a new ink sac in, I leave it for about ten or so minutes in a warm glass of water with a few drops of this in it, and I can get the section off quite easily. I have used this on numerous pens before choosing to write a review. They've all been vintage pens. It is great for cleaning out old ink and getting things flowing again. This stuff is integral to cleaning and restoring you pens. Seriously, give it a try. I am so glad I did! Five Stars!

WOW does this thing CLEAN.
I took a pen that's been having hard starts for weeks despite me rinsing it occasionally, and immediately upon just dipping it into the solution, it was already getting out so much dye that I didn't even know was still in the pen.I can probably do away with that 500 mL bottle of Monteverde flush I have sitting around that I've barely used, or really any other pen flush ever again.

Effective on cheap pens
A number of people have written about how this cleaner works in valuable pens like Mont Blancs. I have a bunch of pretty inexpensive ($30 and below) pens I use constantly which put up with a fair amount of abuse with often lousy paper. Sometimes I use nice expensive ink, but I often use ink cartridges that come with the brand that might be less good (I teach literature and grade papers by hand--most of my pens are Hongdian Black Forest and Lamy Safari. ) I've recently had some black cartridges leave strange flakes and then all my pens seemed to be clogged. I bought this kit and now have 8 working pens just in time for finals. The Hongdians, whose EF nibs can be kind of scratchy, are feeling really smooth at the moment. The one downside is the cleaning time per pen . . .

This product is awesome and I'm glad I found it
I have written with a Mont Blanc fountain pen for 32 years. I have carried it and used it every day. My wife bought me this VERY expensive pen as a gift when we got married. Recently, I had to send it back to Mont Blanc for a repair. I also asked them to make sure the pen would write smoothing before sending it back to me. I expected to receive a new nib after the service call. I did NOT get a new nib and the pen wrote poorly. Somehow, I found this product on Amazon, or it got to presented to me on Amazon. I can't remember. BUT I thought, "What the heck, let's try it." So I bought this. When it arrived, I tried opening the bottle. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to open the bottle. I have had a stroke, so I chalked it up to my damaged brain and put the bottle away for a week. Finally got the bottle to open and I put 3 drops into the supplied measuring bottle. I followed the instructions and let the pen sit in the solution for 24 hours. I also used a brass sheet to clean the center of the nib. (A brass sheet is a very, very thin sheet that you insert into the middle of the nib and drag down it to clean away any material stuck between the nib tines.)For daily writing, I use Mont Blanc black pen cartridges, so I inserted two cartridges into my pen and began writing. SUCH SMOOTH WRITING! For the last week, the pen has been delightful to write with. Just like it was when the pen is new.Mont Blanc should supply this product with every fountain pen they sell!

Works. Not messy
Every other fountain pen cleaning kit/liquid I've ever used worked, but also usually left my fingers inked. This one didn't. Not even close. My pen was quite clogged, and one treatment according to the instructions had it writing like new. This does involve using hot tap water, and a series of steps, so if you're looking for some kind of "push a button and it gets cleaned" approach, this isn't that.

Works very well
I was gifted a Montblanc fountain pen thirty years ago and use it often. A few years back it was rebuilt with all the internals except the nib replaced. Recently it began skipping, even when full. I ordered this flush kit and was very pleased with the results. Moreover, there was enough cleaning solution left I doubt I will ever use it all.

Very Good for Maintenance, Not so Good for Repair
I had a Lamy fountain pen that I love, but it got mislaid and the ink dried out in the nib, plugging it. I used the REPEATEDLY in suggested and more concentrated solutions. It did not clean much of the dried ink, at all.It would be good as a cleaner, for maintenance. It is not strong enough to repair a truly clogged pen. (Maybe nothing is.)

My Montblanc Writes Like New Again
I had my Montblanc Meisterstuck for about a year and loved using it. I take a lot of notes in my job as a therapist and I used up all the ink in the pen prior to a 2-week vacation for Christmas. I foolishly didn't top the pen off with ink before leaving on the trip and the pen dried out while I was away. When I got back to the office after the trip I filled it up, and it wouldn't flow. For months I would periodically rinse the pen out and let it dry and then fill it back up to see if it would work properly again to no avail. It got somewhat better, but not like it was from before the trip. I even called Montblanc and they told me I'd have to send it away to be serviced at a minimum price of $100, and most likely take weeks. I knew what the problem was, so sending it away seemed silly to me. Enter the The Ultimate Fountain Pen Flush. One flush of this product and the pen is working like new again! I used it for the first time in months yesterday and it wrote beautifully without drying out. I was so pleased! I couldn't recommend this product more.
