Took forever trying to use a hammer and flat head so I decided to use 2 screw drivers and twist it and it went on easy.

Plan on using this to replace your old one!!
Plan on eliminating (destroying) one of the 2 tabs on top... It blocks the newer/universal linear-style 4-prong plug. Not a faulty part, just a GM design change.

This item would not work cause it was not OEM spec it was double the thickness of the original and would not properly lock on to the fuel tank
