This is great. I bought it 2+ years ago and it still rocks. I love knowing there is no plastic and it keeps my microwave very clean. It doesn’t get super hot on the handle typically. It’s big enough to fit most anything I heat. It’s slightly heavier than I’d prefer but it isn’t difficult, just a tad annoying if I’m feeling lazy but most the time I don’t even notice. UPDATE: It is now April 2021. After nearly three years of daily use, it is still going strong. I'm very happy with this cover. I melted my soft plastic cover when I decided to leave it in the microwave (since I store it there to remind EVERYONE to use it) and put a bag of popcorn on it. 2 minutes later, the bag was stuck to melted plastic, and it smelled pretty bad. As I pulled the bag away from the cover, long strands of plastic came with it. Both went into the trash. I had already ditched a hard plastic cover because the only way to lift it was to stick a finger in the hole- and get burned by the steam trying to escape. After those experiences, I wasn't going to trust a plastic cover again. At the same time, I like how a cover keeps the inside of the microwave free of splatters. My microwave is mounted over the cooktop. I am short, so I have to use a step stool to reach all the way to the back. I was reminded what a pain that is after throwing away the melted one, so when I found this one, made of glass and silicone, I put it into my cart right away. The cost wasn't even a factor (and I am cheap) because keeping a clean microwave means less work. It is taller and heavier than I expected, but it fits perfectly fine in the smaller interior of my microwave/vent hood. And I love the large, keep cool handle enough to live with the weight.

This has been one of the hottest items in my kitchen (literally). It does what it's supposed to and it's very sturdy. All it takes to clean this off (if need be) is a little rinse or just a bit of soap and water. It covers the plate and hugs the corners of the plate to the point where you can even pick it up by the handle (with the plate inside) and place it in the microwave! Of course it has to be a round plate. Please do not try that with a non-circular plate. After heating, the cover can slide off easier if held by the handle because of moisture so be careful if you pick up the cover/plate after heating in the microwave. If I needed to, I'd buy another one of these. It seems it may last forever. (= 3/22/19 Edit; This thing is dynamite for my kitchen! I actually purchased the black one in July of 2018. I purchased the red one for a friend a few day ago. (= Why? Because it keeps food from splattering in the microwave, gives a nice, even heating for multiple dish sizes, flexible, easy to use, easy to clean... Wonderful Product! However, I have this 'thing' about wanting to know where my products come from. My friend and I reviewed the box for the red one together to find out. It ended up being a critique. A confusing one. First and foremost, the product is pictured on the box readied to cover a plate destined for the microwave... Why is there lettuce on the plate?! Secondly, if you zoom in close enough, there's an ANT near the plate of lettuce that's destined for the microwave. An ANT!!! That dude does NOT know what's about to happen to him. Last but not least, we assessed this box (and the receipt) to find out where in the world this 'box'... oh, and the product, came from. Nowhere on the box or the receipt does it say. Well, at the end of the day, I truly feel bad for that poor ant. The photographer that took a picture of the microwaveable lettuce should be PUNISHED for such insolence! LOL! Nevertheless, the product is great. I just hope someone has checked this box out as I did. ;)

This cover is very well made and looks and feels amazing. It’s easy to clean and functions as expected, protecting the microwave from splatter and keeping food more moist. Only minor knock is that, due I presume to the heft/mass of the cover, food can take a little longer to cook. For example, heating up 2 hotdogs without a cover or with a thinner cover takes about 1 1/2 minutes. With this cover, the cook time increases to about 2 minutes. I assume that the cover initially absorbs a good bit of the microwave energy because of its mass. Regardless, I still would recommend this cover for all of the reasons mentioned in this review.

Far and away the best microwave plate cover. Yes, there are several that are cheaper, but this is classic case of "you get what you pay for." This is NOT made of some gross plastic -- it's cookware grade silicone combined with pyrex grade glass -- so it doesn't stain, won't melt, and is easily cleanable. It is well vented and has a large, easily "grabbable" handle, so you can remove it when your food is done without having to worry about frying your hand on the knob or boiling your wrist from released steam. It is also big enough to cover most any bowl or plate --- but even if (as is the case with some of my large dinner plates) the plate is a tad larger than the cover, not to worry -- all you need to do is make sure when you put the food on the plate that you leave a small open space between the food and the rim of the plate for this cover to fit over; the cover is heavy enough that it will not move as your microwave spins. I feel stupid for not having discovered this earlier -- I can only imagine how much time and energy I have wasted over the years cleaning up my microwave after reheating leftovers without this brilliant gizmo.

We originally purchased one of the cheaper plastic ones. It quickly started looking grungy and one of the most annoying things about it is the top dipped down for the handle which would constantly dip into a bowl of soup, etc. This cover has a glass top which won't get discolored and I expect the same with the black sides. We specifically chose this one because it didn't have a bunch of holes on the side so it's easier to clean. While I wish it was half an inch or so wider, it's great as it is. It works great as you'd expect, it's easy to clean and keeps splatter off the microwave. While it costs a little more than the others, the build quality and materials used should ensure it lasts far longer than the cheaper models. I'm definitely happy with our purchase!

Ever since this arrived we've used it nonstop. It's nice to have something professional looking, not flimsy or cheap. This item is heavy; the bottom part is thick rubber and the clear part is real glass. It has a high dome so it doesn't touch the food. It works so much better than covering food with paper plates, plastic wrap, or whatever you can find lying around. Things don't take as long to heat up with this thing and I usually use only 70 or 80% power with it. It has vent holes in the top but be warned, it gets SUPER hot under there. You could give yourself a steam burn if you don't pay attention when lifting it off the food. I like having quality tools in my kitchen and this is one I highly recommend.

Demasiado grande, además si lo compráis de color negro se verán todas las manchas de cal. No es nada práctico para el dia a dia. Por el precio que tiene hay otras opciones más recomendables. Además, tapa demasiado y hay que poner más tiempo en el microondas el alimento para que se llegue a cocinar.
