Is it possible to be addicted to salmon jerky?
We always take salmon jerky on road trips. Just an easy, healthier snack. Used to get from Trader Joe's, but they stopped carrying it and my husband found this on Amazon. Now I've been buying it (all 3 flavors) regularly.... and not just for road trips. Is it possible to eat too much of this? All 3 in the variety pack are tasty (wish they had a 4 variety pack including Ancho Chili + Lime.I like that Fishpeople promotes sustainability and cares about the health of the oceans.Could be a little less expensive, but good sustainably caught fish isn't cheap. For the 1st time after consuming several packages, I found bones in the pieces, but they were small.A little concerned by reviews reporting moldy pieces. Wondering if it was truly mold or the coating of the flavored varieties? I'll be careful when I eat it.Lastly, if you don't like fishy tasting fish, this isn't for you. If you dont mind a strong fish flavor (I love it personally), this is a great snack!

8 out of 10 except.....
Overall this is a great variety pack with quality salmon jerky. It’s kind of hard to find salmon jerky in stores so I was pleased to find this on Amazon.Despite the other reviews, lemon zest was my least favorite of the 3. There were several hard pieces and the ones that weren’t hard and tough, were kind of mushy. 6 out of 10 for the lemon zest flavor but I could have got a bad batch because the other ones had great moist jerky texture. My favorite was the rainbow peppercorn. It had just enough sweet and just enough savory. I would rate it 8/10. The sweet and smoky one was also an 8/10 in my opinion. The Best Buy date was a good 8 months out and they taste fresh. A pretty good find and will repurchase the individual ones with out the lemon zest in the future.

Reminds me of Washington
This isn’t quite as good as the fresh salmon jerky that I used to get on the Olympic Peninsula, but it’s the best widely available salmon jerky I’ve found so far. It arrived a few hours ago, and I’ve gone through two bags already. I’m back to order more.Salmon jerky always has a slightly bitter flavor to me, and this did, too. However, it wasn’t as strong as in some of the other brands I’ve tried, and I’m thankful that it wasn’t sweet, either. I was worried the rosemary I saw in the ingredient list might be too strong, but I’m not sure I would have noticed that flavor if I wasn’t looking for it.The alder is just right... When I opened the bag and smelled the alder wood & fish, it took me right back to Hood Canal.

Used to love this brand, but lately it is always stale and too hard
The first couple times I purchased this on Amazon, it was very fresh and tender. The past 2 times I have ordered, most of the jerky has been stale and tough. I suppose this might be a problem with the brand, but I have my doubts. Maybe it's due to how they're being stored with Amazon, or maybe I just wasn't lucky twice in a row. Either way, I'm going to try purchasing directly from Fishpeople next time and see if I can get the good tender stuff again. If you can handle the chewiness better than I can, the taste was still quite good!UPDATE: I do not think this is a problem with Amazon's stock any longer -- I purchased some of this from a local store recently and had the same problem with it being far too tough. This jerky used to be so tender! I think Fishpeople's quality unfortunately has gone down, so I think I'll be going back to Epic Salmon jerky instead.

Inedible to eat and intolerable to smell.
Terrible, in every way --Deceptive packaging: The front of the package boasts "WILD ALASKAN SALMON JERKY," but then in tiny letters under the ingredient listing is the only place that reveals this is in fact KETA salmon, which sure - may be wild and from Alaska - but tastes like CHUM (probably a big reason why it's nicknamed chum salmon). No, I don't indulge in chum, but to be more concise - this stuff was bitter and downright foul to eat.Smell: This product smells like rancid fish oil, and good luck getting the smell off your fingers (or anything else it touches).Over-priced: This isn't a premium product, but it's priced right up there with premium sockeye salmon jerky products. There's a reason keta salmon is unpopular - don't go making a premium product using subpar ingredients.Seek out Trident's sockeye jerky instead and pass on this stuff.

Love it, makes me wanna slap umami!
I find this to be the most delicious snack around. The traditional smoky sweet is off the charts delicious umami. It is like salmon ‘bacon’ flavorwise. I used to get a very similar product at Trader Joe’s but they discontinued it. I attempted to purchase this from the manufacturer, but the shipping charge was absurd. This seller was much more reasonable, and it was delivered very quickly. Keep one of these in your bag or backpack and when you feel hangry it satisfies. It does not need to be refrigerated, or heated, travels well, just grab a piece and eat it and you are in heaven. It’s sort of expensive but I love it like crazy. Try not to eat the whole bag at once. Savor its smoky, salty deliciousness.

Great difference in the different flavors.
I tried most of these flavors when on a trip this summer where I found them on sale. I found a HUGE difference in the quality of the even the fish in the different processes. I thought I would like the chili the best, but LOVE the peppercorn so much I now consider myself addicted. It says two portions for bag...hahahahahahaha. So glad I ordered recently as I am saving them as a hurricane supply as we face Dorian's arrival. Amazon's price is not amazing, even Subscribe and Save, but it is comparable to other online retailers. Giant Eagle had the best price, but I don't have one near me.
