fun movie
i grew up with Asterix and Obelix cartoons, movies, and audio tapes. Love the movie. Not the best quality but good enough for me to have fun watching it with my son.

ASTERIX & OBELIX Versus CAESAR ~ Gérard Depardieu, Christian Clavier (DVD-VIDEO; MPEG-2) - [IMPORT - ALL REGION Play ] Asterix & his buddy - Obelix are an aquired taste but if you love them, then this movie doesn't disappoint. Asterix, Obelix, Verciningetorix and all the others join forces to HELP Caesar fight a challenge to his authority. One word of warning - the movie is in french and if you don't understand french, you can follow along the subtitles in english. It is true to comic book adventures with wit. I loved it.

It did a pretty good job of "being" Asterix
Of course, the original comics, in French of course, are still better than any movie, but they did a pretty good job. And seeing Depardieu carrying a menhir around is pretty funny. My wife and I definitely enjoyed it.

wrong product
I was very disappointed in this product and the company, Mars, that sent it. Instead of sending me the French version as advertised they sent me an English dubbed version. It did not even have the french and had the look of a poorly burned CD. Not at all what I was expecting

My husband loved this, and it doesn't matter that it's subtitled! It's a charming video, and GD is perfect in his role.

Film ben fatto ed esilarante, da vedere.
A mio parere la trasposizione cinematografica di Astérix più riuscita, caratterizzata dalla fedeltà ai personaggi e alle vicende dei fumetti, affiancata alla parodia ben riuscita di un film storico: grande cura dei dettagli, costumi dall'aspetto verosimile e trucco e parrucco stile Hollywood degli anni d'oro, credibile anche per quanto riguarda i personaggi più comici o stravaganti. La fotografia contribuisce a distinguere il film dagli altri realizzati sul soggetto, che invece hanno più l'aspetto di una "umanizzazione" del fumetto e dei cartoni. La trama è coinvolgente ma leggera, perfetta per la visione in famiglia con risate garantite. Ottima la recitazione originale in Francese, ma davvero ben fatto il doppiaggio in Italiano, con interpretazioni esilaranti che addirittura esaltano i momenti comici.
