Maybe more competition than hunting?
I bought these for 3-Gun competition. My goal in 3-Gun is not to be the National Champ. Just to be a better shooter. So my budget reflects that and this fits my budget. Sure I could spend $20 a piece for TekLok. And then not spend the $120 on ammo or range time. OR, I could spend $30 on 6 of these and spend $90 on ammo... Duh.So the more serious things. Build quality is excellent. Heavy weight plastics. Feels strong. The latch is like people have said, not too hard to fiddle with. But, honestly, if you're going hiking all day with one of these... Maybe spend $20 for one instead of $5. OR, you wedge something in the lock and it doesn't come off. I haven't used them in competition yet, so my opinion may change. But for now, these are perfect for the price. I knocked a star off because the latch is easy to unlock. But that's not enough to make me regret it. Ordered one set, got them today. Mounted my competition holster... Ordered 4 more.

Good quality, secure locking mechanism
Have been using these for a few years for items on my duty belt, makes moving and removing pouches so much easier than taking the buckle off and sliding everything off the belt just to move or replace things. The locking feature is very nice. I've used these on 1.75" and 2" duty belts for my mag carriers, flashlight carrier, and the latest batch are going to be used for new baton carrier.

Spend the money on a real tek lok
They seem to be quality. I think they’re made of a similar nylon material as a real boker or blade tech tek lok. That’s about the last positive thing I have to say. The “slide type” design of the clasp is just a bad design. To unlock the release you slide a little button across, which allows you to push the button down to release the clip. The slide only has to move about 1/8”, and takes no effort to move. Same with the release button, almost no pressure will release the mechanism and allow whatever you have on your belt to fall off. I wouldn’t trust this to hold anything expensive on a belt. And I wouldn’t even trust it with something cheap while hunting or hiking in brush. The last problem, which is a deal breaker for me... the real tek loks will accommodate a 2.5” belt. This one won’t work for more than 2 1/8” belt. So any tactical, work, military, police belt is out of the question. I paid $10 for 2 of these, and I still feel they’re overpriced. It’s a shame that the real tek loks have gotten so expensive, but saving $10 by buying a knock product isn’t really a bargain if your $100 knife or your $500 handgun ends up lost. IF you like to “play tactical” for air soft or paintball, these are fine. Otherwise, spend the money on real tek loks. Mine will be returned.
