The VTI audio rack exceeded by expectations. The cherry wood shelving is beautiful and of high quality. The hardest part of assembling this audio rack is the unwrapping of the thoroughly placed bubble wrap that protects all the metal shelving assemblies. Assembly instructions curiously mention the possible need for a mallet to align each level, but that is not the case at all because once you screw the spikes into the metal shelving bracket they merely sit upon the dimpled hole of the leg below it. They line up perfectly.However, none of the shelve assemblies are attached to one another, but rather merely sit atop one another, so the unit must be assembled where it will be placed in the room. Accordingly, I first assembled the spikes to the legs and positioned the wood shelves within the triangle metal frame, which merely rests there, and then carried each section in their height order to its placement area of the room. Once placed, moving the assembled rack requires gentle pushing of the bottom leg section since only gravity is holding the upper sections in place. If you push the upper shelves they will tumble off.Also, the top shelf will tip if you put weight on only the back corners since there is only one leg there that supports the it. That's not a problem when putting audio components on it or any of the shelves since that weight is equally distributed.The assembled unit is very sturdy in terms of weight bearing, but not stable if lateral pressure is applied to any shelf section because they merely sit atop one another. You can't pick it up and move it as a single shelving unit because gravity is all that keeps the assembly together. When I made my purchase I was unaware of that, but happily this design does in fact work great for components, and it has a minimalist, high quality, attractive appearance. I'm very pleased with this purchase and do highly recommend it.

This is a lovely looking audio rack and is very good value for the price. Unfortunately though it doesn't isolate vibrations very well. My turntable which sits on the top shelf jumps and skips if I barely touch this unit. For example my amplifier lives on the shelf below and if I try to manually change the volume while a record is playing it usually causes a jump. Luckily I have a remote for my amp so I can sidestep the problem but alas, it is a real shortcoming for an audio rack.BTW, I re-surfaced my shelves with another laminate which is why you might notice it looks a bit different in the photo.

I ordered This for my stereo, and it arrived a little slow but made it to the house. Packaging was very thorough, and took a while to unwrap. When all was said and done the unit was almost exactly what I was expecting. Mine came with 2 wood grain finished, and 2 black finished shelves, not all 4 like the picture shows.I have since ordered a second shelf set, to extend the first set. The second one; a) perfectly matched the first in size and wood grain. 2) All of the shelves were wood grain not just half!

I have been very pleasantly surprised by this product. It's a lot better than I expected, and punches well above its price point. Great packaging, easy to assemble, and reasonably sturdy. The metal frame is strong and well finished, the wood shelves are all the same and look great, all the levels slotted in to each other first time. It looks like a much more expensive product, it's very surprising. I bought this as a temporary stop gap while I find my "forever" stand but this might stay a while longer. I'm no longer searching for a media storage solution.

Very elegant easy to install. Great product.

I like the look and price. Similar ones at my local Hi-Fi store go for over $1,000 - so $300 is a bargain. However, and frankly speaking this was not really a surprise considering the cost, aligning the spikes into the metallic spaces at each level were problematic. Some were perfectly aligned and some were not. And trying to align them as you get to levels 3 & 4 brought its own frustrations.

I get this rack to build my fist HiFI system, the package was heavy but cames with everything to assemble.
