Works as it should but doesn seem to run quite a bit hotter than named brand HDD
Picked one of these up for use as PS5 expansion storage. Nothing wrong with it so far. Does run noticeably hotter than the 1TB Western Digital that i previously had in the Rosewill external enclosure. Im not going to worry too much about it since i can easily turn the device off when im not transferring to and from the PS5. Not sure how i would feel about having this in my personal PC with the amount of heat its kicking off. also not sure about how this would effect its longevity and id hate to lose all my valuable irreplaceable data due to failure. Probably the only place that i would feel comfortable using it is with a PS4\5 and maybe as redundant data drive for the computer that will not see consistent or always connected use. Aside from the few concerns im happy with the purchase.Update 1 week later.Still functioning but this thing make a clicking noise that i havent heard since my families first personal computer back in the early 2000s. I honestly forgot HDDs even make that sound. a little disconcerting but like i said its going to be off for the most part so im not too concerned. definitely would not use this for my personal computer and i will probably never purchase another one due to the dreadful anxiety that the torturous clickity clack is filling me with. Id recommend scrimping and saving an extra $27 and buying a brand you can trust

It just works. Advanced SMKART software shows it's either new, or has had all the SMART data reset. It just works. It's reasonably quiet. Performs decently. Continuous advanced SMART monitoring software seems to show it's in good health after some usage.Using in a 2009~2012 Mac Pro tower.

Almost Perfect!
The price is sure right. But what you get is a drive that for all intents and purposes appears to be brand-new. Even the SMART monitoring data is all reset to zero. This makes me uncomfortable. If the drives are new, then great. But if these drives have whatever amount of time on them, I want to know it at the outset. It is like buying a car. If you buy a car, sold to you as USED, but the odometer says "0000000.0" then you get rightly worried. The only way that could happen, is if the odometer is damaged and replaced. But then there is paperwork that is provided with the car telling you of the odometer replacement. Not so with these drives; they have zero in the SMART area and that's that.Regardless, I put the four drives through very intense testing and they are perfect.Mechanically, they are very quiet, smooth and HOT. These are server class drives. They spin at 7200 rpm, seek rapidly, and totally capable of 100% random loading for any length of time. But, that takes electricity, and when electricity is translated to work. the outcome is heat. You need a decent case or drives carrier that has some forced air cooling. I have two of the drives in a very nice desktop enclosure that has no fans, and the drives will reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Almost too hot to touch. The two drives inside the gaming case have a quiet, slow fan blowing on both and they run at 110 degrees. If you are looking for a good, high performance 4TB drives, these are an excellent bargain.

good warranty but be prepared to deal with returns/replacements
Purchased a couple from goHardDrive... one of them had an issue so I had to work with them to get replacement. They are pretty good at dealing with customer returns/replacements (with prepaid shipping labels). But it took a couple of replacements to finally get a good drive. Right now these two drives are running in my QNAP NAS, no errors with good speed, but as other reviewers mentioned - a little noisy. If you have been used to WD Reds, these are quite a bit noisier... will take some getting used to.As these are "renewed" drives, longevity is obviously a concern but I have them run in a RAID configuration with additional backup so it is mitigated. With 3-year warranty from goHardDrive and their good track record of warranting bad drives, I feel comfortable.

Cheap and it works!
I use these as an add on for Xbox One, Series X, PS4, and PS5. Just use a HD Dock with 2 slots and BAM with 2 of these you have 8tb of space. Have yet to have one fail after a few years with some of them. Granted I don't play everyday.
