Bestop 7563815 Powerboard Nx Automatic Running Boards - 2009-2018 Dodge Ram 1500 & 2010-2018 2500/3500 Crew Cab & 2010-2018 Mega Cab W/O Air Ride

After purchasing these steps for my 2012 Dodge 1500 Crew I thought I had the latest and greatest way to get in and out of my truck...I was not entirely correct.. While there was less wiring because they are wireless...there was a decent amount of tweaking to get the steps to open and retract properly with the placement of the sensors.. That being said the sensors like to eat batteries and require frequent replacements. My latest issue with the steps are that the finish on the support arms both front and rear is literally flaking off!! The powder coating is certainly substandard and now I'm currently waiting for the new parts from Bestop to replace the arms and the hardware necessary that cannot be reused from the first set of arms... Another issue is that on occasion one side will not fully retract and looks quite ridiculous as your driving down the street and either the front or rear portion of the step is somewhat extended while the opposite side is not... Customer service is very spotty and their communication skills are seriously lacking.. It seems that they are in no rush to satisfy you as the customer and they have a "laid back" attitude towards your situation. I would not recommend this product to a friend or even an acquaintance..P.S. With regards to the powder coating failure...I do live in the northeast with a decent amount of chemicals/salt used to keep roadways clear but I barely put 4,000 miles on my truck since installing the steps and would rather walk then to subject my truck to those very same chemicals/salts that are used because of their effect on vehicles underbody finishes.

I purchased the PowerBoard NX because they do not require taking off the door panels and dealing with any of my truck's factory wiring. The installation was time-consuming (about 6 hours), but not too difficult. The adapters that signal the boards to lower and close were definitely easier than wiring. There is a 4 second delay when closing the door for the boards to retract, but when opening the door they immediately come out.After install, I noticed the back of the board when retracted under the truck was hanging down further than the front. This is because the motor attaches to the front and therefore holds the hinge tighter there than the rear. You can only notice it if you are OCD but I like my vehicles to look correct.I called Bestop Customer Service and talked to Nick. He was very helpful and after discussing the issue, I am being sent a third bracket to for added support and now I have an idea to fix the issue. AGAIN, great customer service. Bestop will continue to have a loyal customer in me.

Can't stand these boards. Bought them 10 months ago and have had them disabled for the last 2 months. They constantly squeak when they move, which gets extremely annoying. I've taken them apart 3 times to completely clean them and lube them up to try and eliminate the noise - works for about 4-5 days then it starts back up again. I have to spray them with WD40 almost daily to clean/lube the moving parts in order to help prevent them from squeaking - helps for a few cycles. Also, they do not play well on hot or cold days or if they come in contact with mud or snow/ice.Also, there seems to be a flaw in the design. The motor is on the front side of the boards, not both. In result, the boards do not sit level to the truck. The rear side droops down 1 - 1.5" lower than the from side which looks sloppy.On a positive note: Install was very simple, and the wireless sensors are very nice, which was the reason I bought them in the first place. But Overall, not worth your money. I would buy the AMP Research Boards instead - I have 2 friends that have them and have none any of these issues.

I love the fact that they retract and installation isn't very hard. Most DIY'ers should be able to handle the task. I do wish how ever that they would redesign these to have the motor in the middle, a three arm design. The back of the running boards due to the motor being on the front arm hangs down about 1/2 to an inch lower, where the front tucks up flush becaus the motor is on the front arm. I guess I will find out how this will also affect the longjevitiy of the motor. That's just my ocd. I would still buy these again.

I like the product, it works well and the installation was relatively easy to install. What I had issues with was Amazon. I had to order this product twice, in order to get the right one. The first time I was sent the wrong item, so I sent it back for an exchange, but instead I was given a full refund. So I had to re order the item for a second time which took about an extra ten day... But I am happy with the Power Board NX retractable running boards...

The goal was to get a quality product with a simple easy install. Once installed the steps worked well for a short period of time. Very soon afterwards the passenger step stopped working and I would need to reset the system to try and get it moving again. I have had to replace the batteries in the transmitters constantly. Now, after replacing all the batteries I had all four doors working with the step, but that was short lived ( about a week) now none of them work. I can assume I will need to remove all the batteries and reset the system to try and get at least one of the steps working.Spend a few dollars more and the AMP research steps. I have a few friends that have them and the have been flawless.

Great concept, didnt work for very long. Great customer service though. After they sent a second complete set to fix the problem with the first never could get both sides to work again. 5 stars for customer service, 1 star on product.

Great steps, but one wireless transmitter stopped working, changed batteries and still nothing.
